Islamic Centre of Kashmir

Islamic Centre of Kashmir Educating minds through Qur'aan and Sunnah! History

Founded on 31st of March in 2011 and is a registered trust with the State Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

The trust will work on non-profit basis and all the revenue generated through donations and other activities will be used for the development of the trust Insha’Allah. Mission

The Valley once known as the “Valley of the Saints (pious)” has seen a dramatic turn in the life style of its inhabitants. Although, the overwhelming majority of the people living in Kashmir are Muslims, yet all the practic

es that Islam came to ridicule are present in our society. In order to make our society a better one where morality, peace and harmony would prevail, “The Islamic Centre of Kashmir” was formed with a view of encouraging virtue and forbidding all vice in view of applying a verse from the Qur’aan:

"Let there arise out of you a group inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong. They are the ones to attain success."[Aal-e-Imran, 3:104]

Programs

The Islamic Centre of Kashmir plans to work for the following causes:

Education

The Islamic Center of Kashmir aims to promote contemporary and moral Islamic education. This would be based as per the methodology of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) upon Qur’aan and authentic Sunn’ah and as per the understanding of the Pious Predecessors. The main steps we aim to take in this regard are as follows, Insha’Allah:

Making authentic Islamic knowledge readily available to the world through the Internet. Providing mass education about Islam by distributing free authentic Islamic literature in the form of books, pamphlets’ etc. and utilizing the mass media for the same. Organising seminars, debates and workshops in order to educate people and further the cause of peace and harmony in the society as per Divine Laws. Establishing Islamic academic libraries and guidance Centre’s aimed at educating the general masses regarding the main principles of Islam. Encouraging contemporary education among the needy and under-privileged by imparting them with technical and professional trainings. General Social Welfare

The Islamic Centre of Kashmir aims to work for the general welfare of humanity irrespective of caste, colour and creed. This would include rehabilitation of down trodden and under privileged sections of the society. The main steps we aim to take in this regard will be as follows, Insha’Allah:

Providing interest free loans, academic scholarships and other financial assistance to the poor and needy. Arranging free medical camps and first-aid to deserving individuals. Delivering aid, voluntary support and disaster management whenever necessary. Finally, we ask all our Brothers and Sisters in Creed to support and aid us in order to make the causes we are striving for attainable. We ask Allah the Mighty and the Majestic to make this Islamic Centre a source of good, grant us sincerity, accept our efforts, overlook our shortcomings and cover us all with His Mercy in this world and in the hereafter. Aameen!

WOMEN WORKING :

It is permissible for a woman to go out of her house for work, but that is subject to certain conditions. If they are met, it is permissible for her to go out. They are:

- That she needs to work in order to acquire the money she needs, as in your case.

- The work should be suited to the nature of woman, such as medicine, nursing, teaching, sewing, and so on.

- The work should be in a place that is only for women, and there should be no mixing with non-mahram men.

- Whilst at work she should observe complete shar’i hijab.

- Her work should not lead to her travelling without a mahram.

- Her going out to work should not involve committing any haraam action, such as being alone with the driver, or wearing perfume where non-mahrams can smell it.

- That should not lead to her neglecting things that are more essential for her, such as looking after her house, husband and children.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen said: The field in which a woman works should be only for women, such as if she works in teaching girls, whether in administration or technical support, or she works at home as a seamstress sewing clothes for women and so on. As for working in fields that are for men, this is not permissible for her because it requires her to mix with men, which is a great fitnah (source of temptation and trouble) and should be avoided. It should be noted that it is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I have not left behind me any fitnah that is more harmful to men than women; the fitnah of the Children of Israel had to do with women.” So the man should keep his family away from places of fitnah and its causes in all circumstances. End quote.
