UNITY MUTTON TRADERS ASSOCIATION
General Appeal to All Mutton Dealers and Members of the Mutton Business Community
Dear Members,
It is brought to the notice of all mutton dealers, transporters, wholesalers, and other stakeholders associated with the mutton trade that our community is facing serious difficulties due to the alleged extortion and illegal collection of hefty -laden trucks at Madhavpur. These unnecessary payments are being imposed on vehicles carrying livestock and mutton consignments, resulting in a significant increase in transportation costs.
At a time when the mutton trade in Kashmir is already passing through a difficult phase due to rising prices, reduced consumer demand, and shrinking profit margins, these additional burdens are causing severe financial stress to traders. The increased transportation costs ultimately contribute to higher market prices, further affecting sales and reducing the income of those dependent on this business.
In view of this situation, the Mutton Traders Association appeals to all members of the mutton business community to come forward with their valuable suggestions and opinions regarding the future course of action. Members are requested to share their views on whether:
1. A peaceful strike or business shutdown should be considered.
2. A joint representation should be submitted to the concerned authorities.
3. Legal remedies should be pursued.
4. Any other suitable and effective measures should be adopted to address this issue.
Your suggestions are important for reaching a collective decision that protects the interests of the entire mutton trading community. We urge all members to actively participate and provide their feedback at the earliest so that a united and appropriate course of action can be taken.
Together, we can work towards resolving this issue and safeguarding the livelihood of thousands of people associated with the mutton trade.
