Over the past three decades, the Kashmir Society International has organized hundreds of Tasawuf Conferences at Chinar Bagh Shams Faqeer Parak. On July 24, 2022, both Bulbulshah Parak in Raj Bagh and Chinar Bagh were named and dedicated to all Sufi Awliya of Kashmir, including Bulbulshah, Shah Hamdaan, and Shams Faqeer.

KTMF Advocates Creation of 11 Administrative Districts in Srinagar; Calls for Dedicated City Division
Srinagar | April 20, 2026:
The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) has strongly advocated for the creation of 11 administrative districts in Srinagar, along with the establishment of a separate City Division, aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring efficient delivery of public services.
The KTMF leadership, including Chairman Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Darial and General Secretary (Org) M Altafdar Rajbagh,Treasurer Showkat Ahmad Bhat, and senior leaders Mushtaq Ahmed Sagar, Farooq Ahmed Batqoo, Bashir Ahmed Siraj, Ghulam Rasool Shah, Haji Nissar Ahmed Mir (Downtown), S. A. Rashid, Sheikh Hilal Ahmed, Mohammad Amin Sofi,Surjeet Singh, Mushtaq Ahmed Degal, Deepak Maniswalia, and Popinder Singh Bittu, along with senior members, emphasized that rapid urban expansion, rising population, and increasing civic demands make administrative decentralization an urgent necessity.
The Federation stated that such restructuring would significantly streamline decision-making, improve infrastructure management, and address long-standing civic issues faced by both residents and the business community.
KTMF further highlighted that a dedicated City Division would focus exclusively on key urban challenges, including:
Traffic management
Sanitation and waste management
Drainage systems
Street lighting
Regulation of commercial activities
This focused approach, the Federation noted, would ensure more responsive, efficient, and accountable governance in Srinagar.
In addition, KTMF extended its full support to Dr. Khwaja Farooq Renzushah, Chairman of Kashmir Society International, for his ongoing campaign to preserve the rich civilization of Kashmir and revive the historical and cultural importance of Srinagar city.
The Federation urged the administration to give serious consideration to this proposal in the larger interest of sustainable urban development, ease of doing business, and improving the overall quality of life for the people of Srinagar.
