On March 16, 2025, the Himalaya Brahmo Samaj Shimla held a press conference addressed by trustee Mahendra Kumar. He stated that they have achieved a significant victory from the Supreme Court and expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court, welcoming its decision.
In this decision, the Supreme Court has completely prohibited Lalit Verma and others who created a fake body of trust under the name of Himalayan Brahmo Samaj, as well as Ramakrishna Mission and family members of Landmark Hotel, from interfering in any manner. A similar order was also passed by the Addl.District judge on April 4, 2015, but Lalit Verma and his associates and saint of Ramkishan mission continousaly violating court orders. Advocate Jyotika Sharma elaborated on the court proceedings and judgments.
Jyotika Sharma stated that following the Supreme Court’s decision, the administration should enforce these orders so that Lalit Verma and his associates and saint of Ramkishan mission cannot interfere in any way. Trustee Mahendra Kumar mentioned that their second option is to perform worship at the Himalayan Brahmo Samaj Temple.
They have appealed to the President, Governor, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, and the Chief Secretary, instructing the Deputy Commissioner of Shimla to make a prompt decision considering the seriousness of the matter. However, it is regrettable that neither the government nor the Deputy Commissioner has addressed their concerns so far.
They urged the government and the Deputy Commissioner to prevent all those interfering with the property of the Himalayan Brahmo Samaj Shimla and to grant them permission to conduct their worship. They requested that the Supreme Court's orders be fully enforced; otherwise, the Himalaya Brahmo Samaj would be compelled to launch a nationwide movement. They also stated that they would soon meet with the DC and SP regarding this matter.
The press conference was attended by Vishal Sharma, Trustee Harish Kumar, Secretary Anil Sood, and Advocate Jyotika Sharma.
