Nature and tradition together! The Seng Samla Seng Khasi Kmie joined hands with the Principal, faculty and students of Institute of Hotel Management, Shillong for a Swachata Hi Seva tree plantation drive. The green initiative ended with a thrilling Mawpoiñ demonstration and an exhibition match to build momentum for the upcoming 1st Inter School and Inter College Mawpoiñ Championship to be held from the 12th to the 16th of October, 2026.

Today the 16th of Sept 2026, a delegation comprising leaders and representatives of indigenous faith organisations of the Khasi Jaintia Hills region of Meghalaya — Seng Khasi Kmie, Seiñraij Jowai, Seng Khihlang Seiñraij Tuber & Seiñ Kyntu Khatar Dalloi — met the Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India, Shri Mritunjay at his office in the capital city.

The delegation were able to submit a representation and inform the esteemed RGI of the resolution taken by the indigenous faith organisations to list the indigenous faith of the region as “NIAMKHASI NIAMTRE” for the upcoming Census. They were also afforded the opportunity to share other important matters related to the subject stated above.
