In 1997 an invitation by some members in a local fellowship brought us to Trimulgherry. Then when praying for the area God revealed that this was his placement. Then the deliverance of a girl from demon possession marked the onset of ministry. On January 11 1998 we began serving the Lord as a local independent church with the name of NJC(New Jerusalem Church).

A church can have correct words about the Holy Spirit and still be missing the living fire of His presence. Samuel Chadwick’s warning reaches straight into the danger of powerless religion: people can confess sound doctrine, sing biblical songs, and use spiritual language, yet lack the inward reality of the Spirit’s conviction, holiness, boldness, love, and power. Paul warned of those who would have “a form of godliness but deny its power” (2 Timothy 3:5), and Jesus told His disciples not to begin their mission until they were “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). Christianity was never meant to be a theory about God, but a life filled with God. The church does not merely need better language about the Holy Ghost; it needs a fresh consciousness of His presence, a holy fear of grieving Him, and a living demonstration of His power.

Samuel Chadwick (1860–1932) was a British Methodist minister, holiness preacher, author, and principal of Cliff College, widely known for his passionate teaching on prayer, revival, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Deeply influenced by the Methodist and holiness traditions, Chadwick called the church back to Spirit-filled Christianity rather than cold formalism or religious theory.

The authority of the Christian faith does not rest on traditions, councils, or the opinions of men, but on the unchanging Word of God. Church history can be valuable, but it must always remain subject to Scripture, never above it. The true Church bows before God’s revealed truth, recognizing that His Word alone is infallible, sufficient and final.

E. M. Bounds (1835–1913) was an American Methodist preacher, pastor, author, and man of prayer best remembered for his writings on prayer, preaching, and spiritual power. Though he served in ministry for many years, his greatest influence came after his death through books such as Power Through Prayer, The Necessity of Prayer, and The Weapon of Prayer. Bounds believed that preaching could not depend merely on education, personality, eloquence, or religious machinery. The preacher himself had to be touched by God, filled with the Spirit, and marked by prayer.

When Bounds said, “The unction, the divine unction, this heavenly anointing, is what the pulpit needs and must have,” he was saying that the church does not merely need better speeches; it needs the power of the Holy Ghost resting on the messenger and the message. A sermon may be polished and still be powerless, but when the anointing of God is present, hearts are pierced, sinners are convicted, saints are awakened, and Christ is glorified. Zechariah 4:6 says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” And Paul wrote, “My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4).

The church was never called to entertain the world, but to faithfully proclaim the truth of God’s Word. One side offers lights, performances, and culture-driven attraction; the other is centered on preaching Scripture, exalting Christ, and calling sinners to repentance and faith. The strength of the church is not found in creativity or worldly appeal, but in the power of the Gospel.

Men of God throughout history have stood firmly against false doctrine, even when it brought criticism and opposition. This quote from Paul Washer reflects a strong conviction that the gospel must remain pure and uncompromised according to Scripture and stand boldly for the truth of Christ.
