Milagris High School & Jr. College Commemorates Anna Bhau Sathe Birth Anniversary and Lokmanya Tilak Death Anniversary

Sawantwadi, 1 August 2026: Milagris High School & Jr. College solemnly observed the Birth Anniversary of the renowned social reformer and writer Anna Bhau Sathe and the Death Anniversary of the great freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak.

The programme began with an introduction and anchoring by Tr. Pranali Redkar, followed by the garlanding of the portraits by the Principal, Rev. Fr. Richard Saldanha.

Miss Lisa D'Souza delivered an informative speech on the life and inspiring journey of Anna Bhau Sathe, highlighting his struggles, literary achievements, and contributions to social equality. Miss Janice D'Souza paid tribute to Lokmanya Tilak and his invaluable contribution to India's freedom movement.

In his message, Principal Rev. Fr. Richard Saldanha stressed the importance of education and encouraged students to think independently and express their ideas in their own words. He advised them that AI tools may be used only to correct grammar or language, but they should not depend on platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools to write their assignments. He reminded the students that genuine learning is achieved through honesty, creativity, and personal effort.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, leaving the students inspired by the lives and ideals of these two great national icons.

Parents' Day Celebration – Honouring the Heart of Every Home

Rosary English School, Malvan, joyfully celebrated Parents' Day on 28 July 2026.

The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Principal Rev. Fr. Anthony D'Souza, Class X Teacher Ms. Diana D'Souza, Parent Representative Mrs. Sakshi Kambli, Head Boy Atharv Adavalkar, and Head Girl Durva Pawar.

Students expressed their love and gratitude to their parents through speeches, cultural performances, and a heartfelt ceremony where they honoured their parents with flowers, greeting cards, and gifts. Fun games for parents added excitement to the celebration, and winners were felicitated with prizes.

Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. Anthony D'Souza encouraged everyone to love and care for their parents, reminding them that in old age, parents need our companionship and affection the most.

It was a memorable celebration filled with love, gratitude, and family values.

School Day & Principal's Day Celebration.

Rosary English School, Malvan, joyfully celebrated School Day and Principal's Day on 25 July 2026.

The occasion also marked the Golden Jubilee (50th Birthday) of our beloved Principal, Rev. Fr. Anthony D'Souza, who was honoured with heartfelt wishes and appreciation from students, parents, staff, and well-wishers.

A handmade greeting card prepared by the students reflected their love and gratitude. The celebration reaffirmed the school's motto, "Unity is Strength," inspiring a stronger spirit of togetherness, care, and cooperation among the entire Rosary family.

Parents' Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Milagris High School

Parents' Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at Milagris High School. The event, attended by students, teachers, and parents, won the hearts of everyone present.

The chief guests for the special occasion were grandparents Mr. Deepak Nigudkar and Mrs. Dipali Nigudkar, who were invited as the Guests of Honour. Their gracious presence added charm and dignity to the programme. The event was beautifully and confidently compered by the school's students, Nandini Raut and Siya Chavan.

During the programme, Mrs. Roshni Gawade delivered the Parents' Address. She appreciated the school's initiatives and applauded the sincere efforts of the students and teachers. The programme was also graced by the presence of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Richard Saldanha, and the Supervisor, Mrs. Sandhya.

A special highlight of the programme was the traditional Aukshan ceremony, during which the students welcomed and honoured their parents, expressing their love, gratitude, and heartfelt wishes.

Milagris High School Football Team Clinches Championship
Milagris High School and Jr. College added another feather to its cap when its Under-15 football team emerged victorious in the prestigious Subroto Mukherjee Football Cup Tournament. The team secured the championship title by defeating Amboli Sainik School 1–0 in a thrilling final match.
The players displayed exceptional teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, culminating in their well-deserved victory. Their outstanding performance brought great pride and honour to the institution.

The Principal, Rev. Fr. Richard Saldanha, congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement and commended them for their hard work and dedication. He also expressed his appreciation to the coaches, Mr. Hitesh Malandkar and Mrs. Sharon Alphonso, whose dedicated guidance, tireless efforts, and expert coaching contributed significantly to the team's success.

🌿🛒 *Market Day 2026 – Learning Beyond the Classroom!* 🛒🌿

On 18th July 2026, *Rosary English School, Malvan* successfully organized *Market Day (Raan Bhaji)* transforming an ordinary Saturday into an exciting and meaningful learning experience under the guidance of our Principal, *Rev. Fr. Anthony D'Souza*, with the dedicated support of our teaching and non-teaching staff.

Our students enthusiastically displayed and sold a variety of *wild vegetables (Raan Bhaji)*, stepping into the roles of both sellers and customers. From arranging the stalls and interacting with customers to handling sales and managing money, they gained valuable hands-on experience in business and entrepreneurship.

The activity helped students develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork, responsibility, mathematical skills, financial literacy, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Most importantly, it connected classroom learning with real-life experiences, making learning enjoyable, practical, and memorable.

A heartfelt thank you to all our parents for their generous support, cooperation, and enthusiastic participation, which made this event a grand success.

Together, we continue to inspire our students to learn by doing and prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

Grand Inauguration of Monsoon Sports at Milagris High School, Sawantwadi

The Monsoon Sports 2026 at Milagris High School, Sawantwadi commenced with great enthusiasm and grandeur on 10 July 2026.
The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was Mrs. Madhuri Gangaram Gharal, District Sports Officer, Sindhudurg. The Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Richard Saldanha, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest by presenting her with a bouquet and a sapling as a token of respect.
The grand event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as the students. The two-day Monsoon Sports Meet, scheduled for 10th and 11th July, will feature a variety of rainy-season games, with students eagerly participating in different sporting events.
While addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of sports in shaping one's life and encouraged students to remain active and develop a lasting interest in sports. The Principal also motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly and emphasized the values of honesty, integrity, discipline, and perseverance in sports as well as in life.
The programme was gracefully compered by the school's senior teacher, Mrs. Janet Almeida, while the vote of thanks was proposed by the High School Clerk, Mr. Jaydev Sir.

*Guidance Camp on the Importance of Nature and Yoga Held at Milagris High School*

Sawantwadi, June 29:

Milagris High School organized a guidance camp on "The Importance of Nature, the Significance of Yoga, and Our Responsibilities and Duties" on Monday, June 29, 2026.

The session was conducted by Mr. Rupesh Patil, who served as the resource person for the programme. He was warmly welcomed by the Principal of the school,Rev.Fr.Richard Saldanha with a bouquet at the commencement of the event.

During his address, Mr. Patil emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, the need to uphold our responsibilities towards nature, and the vital role of regular yoga practice in promoting physical and mental well-being. His insightful and motivating session was well received by the students.

The programme was compered by Tr.Sharda Gawade, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Sir. Dattaram Naik.
