Most Popular Temple of Lord Hanuman in Rajasthan
It is located on National Highway 668 in the Churu district of Rajasthan, India. Every year big fairs are organized during the months of Chaitra (March–April) and Ashwin (September - Octo
ber). A story is prevalent in the context of this temple. According to local legend, a long time ago in the village of Aosta, Rajasthan, a farmer's plow collided with an object while plowing, and stopped there. When the farmer looked, he saw some stones were there. The farmer started digging, and an idol of Hanuman was found. The day was Saturday and it was Navami (9th day) of Shravan month (July–August) in the bright half (first fortnight). The farmer told the people about this incident. It is said that the landlord in that place also had a dream on the same day. In the dream, Lord Hanuman ordered him to install the idol in a Mandir in Salasar. On that same night, another person by the name of Mohandas - a resident of Salasar - was also ordered by Lord Hanuman in a dream to establish his presence by taking the idol from Asota to Salasar. Salasar Balaji or Salasar Dham in India is a place of religious importance for the devotees of Hanuman. The temple of Balaji, another name for Hanuman, is situated in the middle of Salasar and attracts innumerable worshippers throughout the year. On Chaitra Purnima and Ashvin Purnima large fairs are organized which millions of devotees visit as they pay homage to the deity. Salasar Balaji is in the religious circuit that includes the pilgrim centers of Rani Sati Temple and Khatu Shyam ji, which are both located close to it. Initially, a small construction, the temple of Salasar Balaji is now considered to be a Shakti Sthal (a place of power) and Swayambhu (self-creation) by faith, belief, miracles, and wish fulfillments of the devotees. It is located in the town of Salasar, on National Highway 65 near Sujangarh in Churu district, Rajasthan.
