Dear All,
Congratulations for getting a hiked salary.
But do you think that this should be the stop point.
Tell me one thing.....
How many of you have a confirmed job after this young scientist position and working as a Principal Investigator for three years. I am sure that most of us have started a new hunt for a new job and further in academics or research it is next to impossible to find a permanent academic or scientist position. However, thousand of vacancies are still vacant in government institutes, but government do not even bother for a secure future of young scientists.
Some of my friend may say that we can apply in Private sector, but if so why we have wasted such a crucial time for doing a research good for nothing if we have to go for a private company. This we could have join even after M.Sc. or Ph.D. and today might be earning very well.
But not, since we are dedicated for science that is why we have opted a long and cumbersome process so that we could get our aim for which we have scarified everything and spent thousands of nights in lab working 24x7.
I am very much surprised by the statement of our honorable PM Mr. N.D. Modi recently in the Indian Science Congress that science is the way to generate new employment, but how even when the highly talented young scientists are not getting a permanent job and have a very insecure future.
Government has the provision to accommodate even the Shiksha Mitra, who are not even qualified for Primery teacher position, as a permanent Basic Education Teacher. Even B.Ed. degree holders have a safe future that one or another day they will be absorbed in the Government sector.
But what about a Young Scientist, who is holding Ph.D. degree, qualified CSIR NET / GATE, having throughout good academic record and is very well capable to independently handle novel research as a Principal Investigator.
Is this not a cruel joke with us that after spending so much of our precious time we again have to fight for the survival of ourselves and our family members who are dependent upon us.
What do you think, should we not have a provision of getting absorbed by the government once completed our research project as a Scientist.
If you are agree with me lets unite and fight for our right...........lets take a united decision to fight for our secure future....
We should make a legally registered union and raise our voice...
