Knowledge – Devotion – Detachment – Liberation owe their allegiance to the Vedic ritual.

Lord Swaminarayan (3 April 1781 – 1 June 1830), also known as Sahajanand Swami, is the central figure in a modern sect of Hinduism known as the SWAMINARAYAN. Within the faith, Lord Swaminarayan is equated with the Supreme Being, Purna-Purushottama. Lord Swaminarayan was born Ghanshyam Pande in Chhapaiya, in 1781. In 1792, he began a seven-year pilgrimage across India, adopting the name Nilkanth Va

rni. He settled in the state of Gujarat around 1799. In 1800, he was initiated into the Uddhav Sampraday by his guru, Ramanand Swami, and was given the name Sahajanand Swami. In 1802, his guru handed over the leadership of the Uddhav Sampraday to him before his death. Sahajanand Swami held a gathering and taught the Swaminarayan mantra. From this point onwards, he was known as Lord Swaminarayan and regarded as an incarnation of God by his followers. The Uddhav Sampraday became known as the Swaminarayan Sampraday. Lord Swaminarayan developed a good relationship with the British Imperial Government. He had followers not only from Hindu denominations, but also from Islam and Zoroastrianism. He built many temples in his lifetime and appointed 500 saint, and many others to spread his philosophy. In 1826, Lord Swaminarayan wrote the Shikshapatri, a book of social principles. He died on 1 June 1830 and his body was cremated according to Hindu rites in Gadhada, Gujarat. Lord Swaminarayan is also remembered within the faith for undertaking reforms for women and the poor, performing yagnas or fire sacrifices on a large scale as well as performing alleged miracles. He has, however, been criticised by religious leaders such as Swami Dayananda who questioned the acceptance of Lord Swaminarayan as God. Lord Swaminarayan had an estimated 1.8 million followers at the time of his death. Currently, his following is estimated between 5 and 20 million. With the name of Lord Swaminarayan our Guru (Chief Saint) Late Krishnajivandasji started his journey to give healthy future to the VEDAS. The Vedas are considered the earliest literary record of Indo-Aryan civilization, and the most sacred books of India. They are the original scriptures of Hindu teachings, and contain spiritual knowledge encompassing all aspects of our life. Vedic literature with its philosophical maxims has stood the test of time and is the highest religious authority for all sections of Hindus in particular and for mankind in general.

“Veda” means wisdom, knowledge or vision, and it manifests the language of the gods in human speech. The laws of the Vedas regulate the social, legal, domestic and religious customs of the Hindus to the present day. All the obligatory duties of the Hindus at birth, marriage, death etc. They draw forth the thought of successive generation of thinkers, and so contain within it the different strata of thought. The Vedas are four: The Rig-Veda, the Sama Veda, the Yajur Veda and the Atharva Veda, the Rig Veda being the main. The four Vedas are collectively known as “Chathurveda, ” of which the first three Vedas viz., Rig Veda, Sama Veda and Yajur Veda agree in form, language and content. In India there were many branches who are teaching VED but now a days we are the only in branche in Uttrakhand province of India who r teaching Sham VED. The only motive of the ashram is to service the society, neither profit nor earning name & fame. Yoga is the Indian heritage, which is time tested and proved over years. Yoga has a message for human mind, body and soul. The one who understand this message would love everyone and build up a strong human community. In our Ashram we took Yoga classes everyday morning to learn & make fit students, also we are conducting Yoga Shibir. Yagna is the other name of yagya. Some people use it as yajna. It is a consciousness based vedic performance. Yagnas are performed by vedic pandits with the aim to bring prosperity, health, contentment, wealth, happiness to people or to nations. Contentment is the base of a full life. A person who lives the fullness of life can only be the base of an enlightened nation. During yagnas specially trained people chant vedic mantras and pour obligations to fire. The overall name of these specially trained people is pandit. Vedic pandits live a pure life according to the rules of vedic literature. In the early morning everyday in ashram YAGYA POOJA will do with our students which are performing the pooja in the age of only 10-11, and the atmosphere will b become spiritual to feel that atmosphere is worth taking. Millions of Hindus revere and worship cows. Hinduism is a religion that raises the status of Mother to the level of Goddess. Therefore, the cow is considered a sacred animal, as it provides us life sustaining milk. The cow is seen as a maternal figure, a care taker of her people. The cow is a symbol of the divine bounty of earth. Ashram having its own cow pen and to worship them is the main motive of the ashram.
