This Picture is None other than the Memorial of Martyrs of 1947 who were massacred by the tribal invaders who launched an organised attack on the innocent local civilians of minority community of Budhal.
In the aftermath of 1947 partition when genocidal attacks were witnessed every where, one such attack took place at Budhal on the fateful day of 25th of November 1947 (i.e. 4th of Maghar of Vikrami era) in which hundreds of civilians of minority community were massacred at this very site where a memorial in the memory of the Martyrs is under construction with the patronage of S. Jaswant Singh, one of the three lucky survivors, who at present lives in Trikuta Nagar Jammu and who, when visited the site of massacre for the first time last year broke down and narrated the whole story of that fateful day.
the work of constructing the memorial was started last year and its completion delayed due to lockdown. The memorial shall be completed in the near future whereafter it will be open for the visit of the public in general. It is to be mentioned here that a Temple,a Mosque and the Gurudwara are situated in Budhal at one place which is a rare example of ethnic brotherhood. The memorial is situated just near all these three religious places.
