Mother Durga makes her seasonal visit with her children to her devotees amid joy, thanksgiving and fellowship. Durga Puja is a time of renewal. Parents, children, friends, relatives, strangers, young and old are full of the spirit of fellowship and goodwill. Light transforms darkness, hope overcomes despair, good conquers evil, envy and hatred. Mother Durga and her children will be with us for fiv

e days. Let us be worthy of her divine presence. Durga Puja festival is celebrated all over the world where there are Bengalis, with sincerity and great devotion. Purulia - Sarkar Para Durga Utsav is no exception. But what makes our Puja, epic, is the history associated with it. Started in the year 1800, our Puja celebrations throughout the years has moved from a shelter and eventually finding a home in the form a big temple in the heart of Purulia. All along we have been extremely fortunate to get the help and generous support given to it, years and years by the devotees and our friends

Our protima is a work of art, made completely from Hay / Clay and all natural materials. Our Puja’s and festivals are renowned for homeliness and welcome for new comers. We do on-site cooking during Navami and also during Laxmi Puja & Kali Puja, we provide evening meals for over 200 people. In recent years we have had many younger members joining and showing tremendous enthusiasm. This is very encouraging and an excellent development for our future. Over the years we have lost several of our senior and founder members and their close associates. They had been a source of inspiration for the Sarkar Para Durga Puja committee and its events. Anyone is welcome in our festivals and Pujas irrespective of their religious, cultural or social beliefs.

শরৎ মানেই পুজোর আমেজ,
শরৎ মানেই খুশি।
শরৎ মানেই মহালয়া আর,
পুজোর লম্বা ছুটি ।
শরৎ মানেই আকাশভরা
সাদা মেঘের ভেলা।
শরৎ মানেই ঢাকের তালে
মেতে ওঠার খেলা ।
শরৎ মানেই সবুজ মাঠের
শান্ত শীতল হাওয়া ।
শরৎ মানেই মাঠের ধারে
কাশ-শিউলির ছাওয়া ।
শরৎ মানেই একটু মজা,
একটু সুখের স্বাদ ।
শরৎ মানেই শুধুই আনন্দ,
সব দুঃখই বাদ।।
