IPC is rooted in the fundamental beliefs of Pentecostal faith: Jesus saves according to John 3:16; baptizes with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4; heals bodily according to James 5:15; and is coming again to receive those who are saved according to 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17. The church places special emphasis on a direct personal experience of God through the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Pente
costal church adheres to the inerrancy of scriptures and the necessity of accepting Christ as personal lord and savior. It is distinguished by belief in the baptism with the Holy Spirit as an experience that enables a Christian to live a Holy Spirit–filled and empowered life. Because of our commitment to biblical authority and spiritual gifts this movement reflects the same kind of spiritual power and teachings that were found in the Apostolic age of the early church.

IPC Pune traces its history back to the early 1960s, when a handful of faithful believers from Kerala, who had come to Pune in connection with their jobs and higher studies, felt the need for a full gospel worship service in their native language i.e. They started gathering at their homes and at times were even forced to conduct these meetings under the shade of a tree. In the year 1968, they approached Pastor M P Oommen, who was already conducting a Marathi service at the AG church, Rasta Peth, and expressed their desire to start a Malayalam worship service. Pr Oommen accepted their request, and this independent worship service commenced at the AG church premises under his leadership. The church grew in numbers, and in Aug 1969 decided to merge with IPC, Maharashtra Region. The same year worship service was also relocated to a rented premises at Alegaonkar School, Kirkee and subsequently to the All Saints High School till in the year 2005, when own premises at Apex Arches, Bopodi was ready for conduct of worship service. By the grace of the Almighty, under the able guidance and leadership of many servants of God and through the tireless efforts of all believers, the church has grown by leaps and bounds and takes pride in being one of the most spiritual and active congregations in Pune.
