Illinois Celebrates Rich Cultural Heritage; Proclaiming February as "Punjabi Language Month"

The state of Illinois is celebrating the Rich cultural heritage of the Punjabi community as the month of February is proclaimed as the "Punjabi Language Month" in the state. It was officially declared by the Governor J.B. Pritzker acknowleding the substantial contributions of Punjabi-speaking residents of Illionois.

With more than 750,000 Punjabi-speaking Americans and over fifty thousand in Illinois alone, the proclamation underscores the importance of preserving and promoting the Punjabi language, literature, arts, music, dance, culture, films, festivals, and traditions among the diaspora.

The proclamation of "Punjabi Language Month" reflects the community's resilience and commitment to fostering cultural understanding and appreciation.
