Sri Ayyappa Swami Seva Sangam, Komaleeswaranpet , Chennai – 600002 was founded during the year 1965 to service the Ayyappa devotees who undertake journey to Sabarimala. Later, from 1966, the group started to celebrate Villaku pooja which is being successfully conducted till now every year in the month of December. The most important activities of Sri Ayyappa Swami Seva Sangam, Komaleeswaranpet is

to help the devotees during their pilgrimage to Sabarimala, conduct Ayyappa bhajan on every Saturday throughout the year in Shri Komaleeshwarar Temple, Komaleeshwaranpet, Chennai - 600002, and the main event of Villaku pooja which will be held for two days starting with Devotional Light Music on Friday evening followed by main Villaku pooja on Saturday which includes “Ganapathy Ommam” with the installation of lord Ayyappa Idol at the pandhal, “Palakombu Procession” passing through all important streets of Komaleeshwaranpet, And concluding with “Vettai Purappadu” on the early hours of Sunday. The event includes performance like Pandy Melam, Nathaswara isai, Panjavadhyam, Kottu Thayambaka, Kelikottu, Udukku Pattu, Poli Pattu, Thiri Uzhichil and Ayyappa’s dual with Vavar and the Latter’s defence. The event closes with Deeparadhanai, Mangalam and distribution of Prasadam.

On the second day which is Saturday throughout from Morning to Night more than 7000 devotees and public are served with Annadhanam starting with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We have seen devotees coming from various areas to witness this wonderful event alongwith their families.
