The story of Samuel begins with a prayer.
Hannah longed for a child, and in her sorrow she cried to God. In time, her prayer was answered, and she gave thanks by dedicating her son to the service of the Lord.
Samuel grew up in the house of God, learning to listen, learning to serve. One night, when everything was quiet, Samuel heard a voice calling his name. Though he did not yet understand, God was speaking to him.
As Samuel grew, he became a faithful servant and a trusted prophet, guiding the people of Israel during a time of great change. Through him, God revealed His will and prepared the nation for what was to come.
Samuel’s life reminds us that God listens to sincere prayer, and that those who are willing to listen may be called to serve His purpose.
