On the resolution passed by Five beloveds, Guru Gobind Singh left Chamkaur Garhi. The Guru clapped and proclaimed ‘Pir-e-Hind may Rawad’ - Guru is leaving. Passing through the jungle, the Guru reached Machhiwara.

Gani Khan and Nabi Khan planned and dressed the Guru as ‘Uch- Da-Pir’ (ਉਚੱ ਦਾ ਪੀਰ -ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ) to take him to a safer place.

In painting, the Guru has been dressed as Uch-Da-Pir. Gani Khan, Nabi Khan, Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharm Singh, Bhai Man Singh carried the palanquin with due respect. The Guru’s Persian tutor Qazi Pir-Mohammad and Mughal interrogator Dilwar Khan are also shown.

When they reached near Ghulal, they were stopped at police Check post. Dilwar Khan, the officer incharge interrogated them to check the identity of the Uch-Da-Pir.

Dilawar Khan asked to partake their food. The Khans told them the Pir was observing Roza( fast). Then he asked the accompanying Sikhs to partake the food. Guru told them to partake food after purify with Kirpan. Kipan Bhent Gurdwara exists at that place.

Still the Dilwar Khan was not satisfied, so he called Qazi Pir-Mohammad to identify the Pir. Qazi was Guru’s Persian teacher at Anandpur Sahib. He verified that the Pir is from ‘Uch’ a place in Pakistan.

They carried the Guru from Machhiwara to Alamgir, where the Guru left the Manji. He issued Hukamnama saying that Gani Khan and Nabi Khan are Guru’s Farzands (sons). This Hukamnama is preserved at Gani Khan Mani Khan Gurdwara at Machhiwara.

Martyrdom of younger Sahibzadas strengthened the foundation of Sikhi ideals laid down by the Gurus.

“ ਹਮ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਔਰੌਂ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੇਂ ਬਚਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਸਿੱਖੀ ਕੀ ਨੀਂਵ ਹਮ ਹੈਂ ਸਰੋਂ ਪਰ ਉਠਾ ਚਲੇ ।” Yogi Alla Zar Khan

Mata Gujri ji hugged Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh:-

"ਜਾਨੇ ਸੇ ਪਹਲੇ ਆਓ ਗਲੇ ਸੇ ਲਗਾ ਤੋ ਲੂੰ ।
ਕੇਸੋਂ ਕੋ ਕੰਘੀ ਕਰ ਦੂੰ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਧੁਲਾ ਤੋ ਲੂੰ ।
ਪਯਾਰੇ ਸਰੋਂ ਪੇ ਨਨ੍ਹੀ ਸੀ ਕਲਗ਼ੀ ਸਜਾ ਤੋ ਲੂੰ ।
ਮਰਨੇ ਸੇ ਪਹਲੇ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਮੈਂ ਦੂਲ੍ਹਾ ਬਨਾ ਤੋ ਲੂੰ ।"

They entred WazirKhan’s court:-

“ਤਸਲੀਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਦਾਦੀ ਸੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਜੁਦਾ ਹੂਏ ।
ਦਰਬਾਰ ਮੇਂ ਨਵਾਬ ਕੇ ਦਾਖ਼ਿਲ ਵੁਹ ਆ ਹੂਏ ।”

Sahibzadas showed immense courage and declared they are not afraid of anyone. They bow their heads only before the Akal Purkh:-

“ਸਚ ਕੋ ਮਿਟਾਓਗੇ ਤੋ ਮਿਟੋਗੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਸੇ ।
ਡਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਸ਼ਹਨਸ਼ਹ ਕੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਸੇ ।”

Sucha Nand’s argument:-

“ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਜਬ ਕਿ ਸਾਂਪ ਕਾ ਸਰ ਭੀ ਹੈ ਤੋੜਨਾ ।
ਬੇਜਾ ਹੈ ਫਿਰ ਤੋ ਬੱਚਾ-ਏ-ਅਫਈ ਕੋ ਛੋੜਨਾ ।
ਦਸਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਟੋਰਨਾ ।
ਬੱਚੇ ਕੀ ਪਹਲੇ ਬਾਪ ਸੇ ਗਰਦਨ ਮਰੋੜਨਾ ।”

Sucha Nand’s asked Nawab of Malerkotla to avenge death of his brother Nahar Khan:-

“ਦੋ ਭਾਈ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਖ਼ਾਨ-ਓ-ਖ਼ਿਜ਼ਰ ਖ਼ਾਂ ਪਠਾਨ ਥੇ ।
ਮਲੇਰ-ਕੋਟਲਾ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਥੇ ।
ਇਕ ਰੋਜ਼ ਆ ਕੇ ਰਨ ਮੇਂ ਲੜੇ ਕੁਛ ਜਵਾਨ ਥੇ ।
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਬਾਪ ਕੀ ਲੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਜਾਨ ਥੇ ।”

The Nawab replied that his bother died while fighting with Guru Gobind Singh at Chamkaur. He would take revenge from Guru Gobind Singh and not from innocent young sons of the Guru:-

“ਹਕ ਬਯਾਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਜੋ ਬੋਦੀ ਦਲੀਲ ਹੋ ।
ਬਦਲਾ ਹੀ ਲੇਨਾ ਹੋਗਾ ਤੋ ਹਮ ਲੇਂਗੇ ਬਾਪ ਸੇ ।
ਮਹਫ਼ੂਸ ਰੱਖੇ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਐਸੇ ਪਾਪ ਸੇ ।”

Kazi advised Wazir Khan to brick them alive:-

“ਬੁਨਯਾਦ ਥੀ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਖੁਦੀ ਜਿਸ ਮਕਾਨ ਪਰ ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਲਾਲ ਬੋਲੇ, "ਨਾ ਛੂਨਾ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਹਾਥ ।
ਗੜਨੇ ਹਮ ਆਜ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਚਲੇਂਗੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ।"

They thanks Almighty:-

“ਬਾਤਿਨ ਮੇਂ ਪੰਥ ਪਰ ਹੈ ਖ਼ੁਦਾ ਕਾ ਕਰਮ ਹੁਆ ।
ਸਦ ਸਾਲ ਔਰ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਮਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਥਾ ।
ਸਰ ਕੌਮ ਸੇ ਬਚਾਨਾ ਯਿਹ ਗ਼ੈਰਤ ਸੇ ਦੂਰ ਥਾ ।”

Martyrdom of young Sahibzadas strengthened the foudation of Sikhi ideals laid down by the Gurus. They are remembered as Baba in Sikh histoty.

“ਹਮ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਔਰੌਂ ਕੀ ਜਾਨੇਂ ਬਚਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਸਿੱਖੀ ਕੀ ਨੀਂਵ ਹਮ ਹੈਂ ਸਰੋਂ ਪਰ ਉਠਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਗੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿੱਸਾ ਜਹਾਂ ਮੇਂ ਬਨਾ ਚਲੇ ।
ਸਿੰਘੋਂ ਕੀ ਸਲਤਨਤ ਕਾ ਹੈਂ ਪੌਦਾ ਲਗਾ ਚਲੇ ।”

With benevolent Almighty’s blessings, We visited Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib, Chamkaur Sahib today. Here the Tenth Guru’s elder Sahibzada-Ajit Singh and Jujhar Singh, and 37 Sikhs attained martyrdom.

Yogi Allah Zar Khan -

ਬਸ ਹਿੰਦ ਮੇ ਏਕ ਤੀਰਥ ਹੈ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕੇ ਲੀਏ

ਕਟਾਏ ਬਾਪ ਨੇ ਬੇਟੇ ਜਹਾਂ ਖੁਦਾ ਕੇ ਲੀਏ

ਚਮਕ ਜ਼ਰੋਂ ਮੈ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਏ ਚਮਕੌਰ

ਜਹਾਂ ਸੇ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਬਨ ਕੇ ਗਏ ਆਸਮਾਂ ਕੇ ਲੀਏ

Guru Gobind Singh Marg map was prepared first time by my father S. Trilok Singh Artist in 1966 on the 3rd. Centenary Parkash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh.

Language deptt. Punjab published a brochure of size 16”X24” and distributed on the inauguration of Guru Gobind Singh Marg by the Chief Minister, Punjab S. Giani Zail Singh on 10th April 1973.

To honour the workers, the Marg was inaugurated by a Rangreta labourer mate Harbhajan Singh on 10th April 1973.

I feel proud to share the route map prepared by my father S. Trilok Singh Artist ( 1914-90). The route still same today.
