Kshethram
Melsanthi: Brahmasree Raman Namboodhiri, Killimangalath Mana, Kunisseri. History:
This more than four hundred and fifty years old temple situated near Kannadi Pathikkal junction was one among many temples owned and worshiped by “PONNANI THIRUMANASSERY KOTTA ELAYA THVAZHI AANAKKARA UNIRAMATH MANA NAMBOODHIRI FAMILY’. After the land reforms, the temple had fallen to bad times, neglect and near ruin. From 1999, few ardent devotees of Thuppallurappan commenced daily poojas to the deity and in due course formed a Kshethra Raksha Samithi to undertake renovation and reconstruction works. By 2002, Sreekovil and Namaskkaramandapam were renovated with the continuous support from benevolent and ardent devotees. Construction work on Valiyambalam, Bhalikkalpura, Chuttumathil, Stage and Bhajanamandapam were initiated and are now partially completed. Future Development Plans:
A Thamboola Prasnavicharam was conducted recently and certain Dhosha Pariharakriya/Pooja were suggested to be got done by the Kshethram Thanthri within a reasonable time in order to mitigate the sufferings and hardships being faced by the families of Oorala, Kshethram dependants and dheasavasis, culminating in the Naveekarana Kalasabhishekam in the year 2019. The work related to the above is set in motion and is in progress.
