Exposure visit to Prem Jyoti community hospital: Yesterday St Luke's hospital Hiranpur hospital team comprised of Dr Philip Stokoe, medical director, Mr Michael Murmu, hospital manager, Mr Haridas Hembrom, lab in-charge and Mr Manik Thakur, pharmacy incharge visited PJCH. Very fruitful meeting happened with Mr. G. Raja, SAO, 2 doctors with PG in family medicine and a MBBS doctor. Future areas of collaboration identified 🙏

St Luke's hospital Hiranpur Pakur Jharkhand- Renovated and reopened from 18th October 2021. Dr Philip Stokoe, currently medical director of the hospital is available till 22nd October and likely he or appropriate identified doctor to permanently join the hospital from November '21. Currently he is doing situational analysis /needs assessment of the hospital with 16 members hospital staff. We intend to publish short summary, condition, staff, lab services, pharmacy services ad basic radiological services and planned outreach community services/initiatives will be given for your information. We have prevented the temporary shut down of the hospital in keeping with the original mission and vision of Dr. H.C Edmund and Dr. Thompson, Dr Shubhro Mullick, Dr Elizabeth and others who played a important role in St Luke's hospital. Current motto of St Luke's hospital (approved by CNI):... is to provide access to equitable/acceptable quality care to the surrounding user-community irrespective of economic and financial stratification with special emphasis on the poor, susceptible and vulnerable (pregnant woman, under-5 and geriatric persons)
