Moving with Gods Momentum:
Pause, take a moment to read through and reflect for the rest of the day!
In cycling or racing, a slipstream is the area of reduced air pressure behind a moving object. When a rider tucks in behind a leader, the leader breaks the wind resistance, creating a vacuum that pulls the follower forward. The follower moves faster, with significantly less effort, because they are riding in the “wake” of the one in front.
Living in faith is exactly like entering a Divine Slipstream.
1. He Breaks the Resistance
“I will go before you and make the crooked places straight...” Isaiah 45:2
In the slipstream, you aren’t the one battling the headwind; the Leader is. God promises to go ahead of you to level the mountains and smooth out the jagged edges of your path. If you feel like you’re constantly fighting an uphill battle, check your positioning. Are you trying to lead, or are you tucked in behind Him?
2. He Provides the Power
“The Lord himself will fight for you...” Exodus 14:14
A cyclist in a slipstream isn’t passive, but they are benefiting from a power source far greater than their own legs. When we live in faith, we stop trying to manufacture our own “wind.” We rely on the momentum of His victory. The battle isn’t yours to win; it’s His to finish.
3. The Secret is Staying Close
“...you need only be still.” - Exodus 14:14
The only way to stay in a slipstream is to stay close. If you drift too far to the left or right, or try to overtake the Leader before it’s time, you hit the full force of the wind again.
“Being still” isn’t doing nothing—it’s the disciplined effort of maintaining your position directly behind Him. It’s the peace of knowing that as long as you follow His lead, you are covered.
What can you do ?
Stop exhausting yourself trying to kick through the wind of your circumstances. Get in the slipstream. Let Him break the resistance. Trust His pace. Be still, stay close, and let His momentum carry you home.
Peace be with you! The Battle belongs to the Lord!!
