‘IDENTITY CRISIS’
AUGUST – SEPTEMBER 2026 | SERMON SERIES AT HOME CHURCH

Who are you, really?

So much of our identity can be shaped by the things around us.
The family we were born into.
The labels the world puts on us.
Our successes and failures.
Our relationships.
Our past.
What people say about us, or what we say about ourselves.

And without even realizing it, we can begin living from an identity that was never meant to define us.

But what if your true identity isn’t something you have to achieve, earn, prove, or protect?

This series is an invitation to go deeper, to uncover the identities we’ve carried, the spaces we’ve been living from, and the voices we’ve allowed to define us.

- Who told you who you are?
- What identity are you carrying?

It’s time to move beyond who the world says you are and discover who God says you are.

There’s a place for you! Join in and discover more!

Youth Meet @ Home Church 🤍

Real conversations. Genuine friendships. A safe place to belong.

This week at Youth Meet, we gathered to laugh, learn, ask honest questions, and grow together. From meaningful discussions about life and faith to building friendships that encourage and strengthen us, every conversation reminded us that no one has to do life alone.

Here, you’re free to be yourself, share your story, and discover God’s purpose in a community that cares.

“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect meeting together…” Hebrews 10:24–25

Whether you’re exploring faith or looking for authentic community, there’s always a seat for you.

The ongoing youth-led protests in Delhi initially began after serious allegations of exam paper leaks, particularly surrounding the NEET entrance exam. Students are demanding accountability and the resignation of the education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. However, what began as a response to the exam irregularities has now become a broader movement, with thousands of young people expressing their frustration over rising unemployment and a failing education system.

Some of the demonstrations have escalated, turning into clashes between protestors and security forces and resulting in injuries and arrests.

However, the issues raised through these demonstrations are of great significance.

Every year, over two million students compete for only about 1,30,000 medical seats through NEET. Families often spend their life savings, take loans to pay for coaching, hoping to secure a better future for their children. But repeated examination leaks have forced students to retake exams, causing them immense emotional strain, the stress has been linked to numerous student suicides in recent years.

India is experiencing a severe youth unemployment challenge, currently about 5.5 per cent. That means, for about 640 million people in the labour force, about 33 million people are unemployed. A majority of them are within the 15-29 age bracket.

Another underlying concern of the protestors is that education and job creation have not received the level of attention and investment needed.

Let’s pray:

- that God would protect every student, protester, journalist and security personnel from harm.
- that the protests would remain peaceful
- that those in positions of authority would would engage in dialogue with the youth
- that meaningful reforms would strengthen the education system and build job opportunities
- that students and young graduates who are burdened with anxiety and stress about their future would find hope.

Who you believe God is will shape everything.

“We all… are being transformed into His image”
2 Corinthians 3:18

Transformation doesn’t begin with trying harder. It begins with seeing God rightly.

Many of us carry a distorted picture of God because of past wounds, disappointment, fear, rejection, or shame. We may know the truth in our minds, yet deep inside believe that God is distant, disappointed, or waiting to punish us.

But the gospel reveals a different Father.

As we behold Jesus, the veil is removed. The Holy Spirit gently heals what is broken, renews our minds, and forms Christ within us. Real transformation happens from the inside out.

- Your thoughts become beliefs.
- Your beliefs shape your life.
- Healing begins when you allow God to reshape both how you see Him and how you see yourself.

You were created in God’s image, loved before you performed, and invited into relationship, not religion.

Don’t ignore the wounds of your heart. Bring them into God’s presence. Let the Holy Spirit heal the places that keep you from trusting Him fully.

The more clearly you see Christ, the more you become like Him.

Behold Him. Be healed. Be transformed.

When all is said and done, what truly remains? Our relationship with God.

Today, take a moment to quiet your thoughts and honestly reflect on what God is doing in your life. We often become distracted by the noise around us, or even the noise within us. Sin can hold us back, worries can weigh us down, frustrations can cloud our perspective, and the cares of this world can choke the very peace God desires to give us.

Yet God’s invitation is not to carry these burdens alone. He calls us to come to Him with open hearts. Lay down every sin, every fear, every disappointment, and every anxious thought before Him. Allow His presence to search your heart, restore your soul, and renew your strength.

As Psalm 73:25–26 reminds us: “Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Today, choose to make Him your portion. Let Him heal what is broken, strengthen what is weak, and remind you that when all is said and done, He is all you need.

Thoughts to ponder Day 3…

The Church and the Kingdom Are Not the Same

The Kingdom existed before the Church.

Matthew 25:34
“The kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”

The Church is not Heaven itself.
The Church is Heaven’s governmental agency on earth.

The Church is Heaven’s local government.

Just as a nation sends representatives to establish its culture and authority in different territories, God sends His people into the earth to reflect Heaven.

Matthew 6:10
“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”

The Church exists to carry out Heaven’s influence on earth.

Thoughts to ponder - Day 2

Born Again is the Entrance, Not the Final Goal

Jesus only mentioned “born again” once in the Gospels, in a conversation with Nicodemus, who asked how to enter the Kingdom.

Being born again is not the end goal; it is the process of entering God’s Kingdom.

Being born again is like receiving citizenship into a new Kingdom and government.

Many believers are citizens of the Kingdom but do not know their rights, privileges, and authority.

God desires His people to walk in dominion, not under fear, defeat, or circumstances.
