Father’s Day Special | The Heart of the Heavenly Father

Listen to this special Father's Day message by Pastor Joy Sunny as we celebrate and reflect on the greatest Father of all.

On this Father’s Day, we reflect on the deep, unchanging love of our Heavenly Father,a Father who listens to everyone, welcomes the outcast, and eats with tax collectors and sinners (Luke 15:1-2).

Luke 15:1–20 features three powerful parables that Jesus shares in response to religious accusations. Through these stories, Jesus reveals the true nature of His Father—a God who welcomes all, no matter their past.

In the parable of the Prodigal Son, we see:

The younger son returning, and the father running to receive him with open arms.
The elder son struggling, but still lovingly approached by the father.
The father pleading with both sons, showing his care for each (v.28).

This is the heart of our God a Father who pleads for His children and never gives up on us. Like Job 1:5, the Father always has a backup—constantly interceding, covering, and watching over us.

📖 Genesis 24:11-12 – Eliezer, Abraham’s faithful servant, was trusted to find a wife for Isaac. Because he was responsible and obedient, he was chosen for a divine assignment. His prayer in verse 12 is a model for us: “Lord, give me success today.”

📖 Ecclesiastes 3:2 & 11 – There is a time for everything, and He makes everything beautiful in His time. Don’t rush. Don’t delay. Wait on God's perfect timing.

🧑‍🦳 Look at Sarah—she waited for a child. Daniel—he waited through trials. Yet God’s timing was never wrong.

📖 2 Samuel 11:1 – David stayed back when he should’ve gone to battle. Being out of God’s timing and placement can lead to avoidable mistakes. Stay where God wants you to be.

📖 John 2:5 – Jesus told His mother, “My time has not yet come.” But she trusted and said, “Do whatever He tells you.” Trust His timing even when you don’t understand it.

📖 Psalm 31:15 – “My times are in Your hands.” Yes, our seasons and steps are safest in God’s hands.

🕊️ Don’t say “not now” or “too late.” Instead, say: “Lord, let it happen in Your time.” 🙌

Scripture Focus:
Hosea 10:1 – "Israel is a luxuriant vine that yields its fruit. The more his fruit increased, the more altars he built; as his country improved, he improved his pillars."

We all desire growth in our careers, families, finances, and every area of life. And by God’s grace, we’ve seen increase. But in the process, many of us have shifted our altars. The place once reserved for God has been replaced by the demands of life our jobs, relationships, children, and ambitions.

The altar of prosperity has quietly taken the place of the altar of worship.

In this powerful word, Pastor Joy brings a timely reminder that no blessing should ever replace the Blesser.

📖 Key Scriptures Highlighted:

Luke 17:15 – One came back to honor and praise the Lord, but nine went their way — their altars placed elsewhere.
Luke 18:22 – The rich man walked away, unwilling to let go of what held his heart. His altar was not God.
1 Kings 11:4 – Solomon’s heart was turned away from God because of prosperity. His altar had changed.
Matthew 8:9 – A man of authority hesitated to welcome Jesus into his home. How blessed it would have been if he had invited the Lord in!

As Paul declared, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35)

Please take a moment to listen to this powerful message by Pastor Joy about the importance of love and faithfulness.

Proverbs 3:3-4 (NIV)
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man."

When we live with love and faithfulness, remaining loyal and kind, we attract favor from both God and people.

Here are three powerful examples from Scripture that show how love and faithfulness lead to divine and human favor:

1. Ruth – Ruth 2:10-12
Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me—a foreigner?”
Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law\... May the Lord repay you for what you have done.

Ruth's loyalty to her mother-in-law Naomi demonstrated true love and faithfulness. As a result, she received favor from Boaz and, ultimately, from God.

2. Samuel – 1 Samuel 2:25-26
The boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with people.
While Eli’s sons were disobedient, young Samuel lived a life of love and devotion to God. Because of his faithfulness, he received favor from both God and people.

3. Jesus – Luke 2:51-52
Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient... And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Even as a child, Jesus honored His earthly parents. His obedience and faithfulness were recognized, and He grew in favor before both God and people.

Philippians 2:5-9 reminds us that Jesus humbled Himself and remained obedient, even unto death. Because of this, “God exalted Him and gave Him the name that is above every name.”

Key : If we walk in love and faithfulness, just like Ruth, Samuel, and Jesus we, too, will receive favor in the eyes of both God and people.
