Announcements for the Week beginning Sunday, 24th May 2026

- THE YOUTH MINISTRY, YU4C NAVI MUMBAI (YOUTH UNITED FOR CHRIST): Is organizing a special Pentecost Sunday Fellowship gathering for all the youth!

Venue: Sacred Heart Church Vashi On Sunday the 24th May from 3:45pm to 5:45pm.

The gathering will include:

Praise & Worship
Fellowship
Games
Snacks & much more…

We encourage the youth to join in on the fellowship

- SACRED HEART NOVENA AND FEAST MASS: All parishioners are invited to participate in the Sacred Heart Novena and Holy Mass for nine days, from 5th June to 13th June in preparation for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart. A guest preacher will preside each evening and guide us on a spiritual journey into the Heart of Jesus. The Parish Feast Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, 14th June at 9:15 am as we come together to thank the Lord for His abundant blessings and seek His continued love and protection upon our parish community.

- PARISH FEAST – CULTURAL PROGRAM & FELLOWSHIP: The Parish Feast cultural program and fellowship titled ‘Dance to the Tune of Jesus’ will be hosted on Sunday, 14th June at 6pm at Sacred Heart School and Junior College. As part of our Parish Feast Day celebrations, an evening of dances will be organized featuring performances by the five parish zones. Please contact your SCC Animator/Coordinator for more details.

- JESUS YOUTH: The Jesus Youth members will be conducting weekly gatherings in our parish every Friday from 7:30pm to 9pm beginning from June. All those who wish to join or would like to learn more about Jesus Youth are warmly invited to attend these gatherings.

- MASS DIARY: Will open on 1st June. Kindly visit the Parish during office hours to book your mass intentions for the months of July, August & September.

- RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA): Classes will commence from the month of June onwards. The course is conducted from June to March with classes every Sunday at 4:30 pm. Are you or anyone you know interested in exploring the Catholic faith? This is a personal invitation to all of you who might know someone who fits this category. Please feel free to invite that person and direct them to the church office for further details.

- CONFIRMATION CLASS 2026–27: Enrollments for the Sacrament of Confirmation for the academic year 2026 – 27 have now begun. Parishioners are requested to use the online registration link shared on the SCC WhatsApp groups to enroll for the course.

- MARIAN DEVOTION ROSARY: On the final day of the Rosary, 31st May, the Rosary will be recited at 5:15 PM at the grotto, organized by the Legion of Mary, followed by Holy Mass in the church. To mark this occasion, the members of the Legion of Mary will be serving snacks and refreshments after the evening Mass. Parishioners who wish to sponsor this initiative are kindly requested to contact the Parish Office.

- SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS: Sacred Heart Church, Vashi, is exploring the possibility of beginning a Sunday School / Faith Formation initiative specially designed for children with special needs. If you are a parishioner of this church and are a parent OR guardian of a child with special needs residing in your home then please take a few moments to complete this online form that has been shared on the SCC WhatsApp groups.

Daily Mass: As usual, there will be two Masses daily at 7 am & 7 pm.

Sunday Masses: will be as follows. Morning only two Masses at 7:30 am & 9 am and Evening at 6 pm.

- MARIAN DEVOTION ROSARY: During the month of May, Marian Devotion, the Rosary will be recited at the grotto daily, Monday to Saturday at 6:15 pm. There will be no Rosary recited at the grotto on Sundays. On 31st May, the final day of the Rosary, refreshments will be served. Those who would like to contribute or sponsor the refreshments are requested to kindly contact the Parish Office at the earliest.

- CHANGE IN MORNING WEEKDAY MASS TIMINGS: At the request of Sacred Heart School & Junior College committee and after discussion in the PPC meeting, the weekday morning Mass (Monday to Saturday) will be held at 6:30 am (instead of 7 am) with effect from 1st June. This change is due to overlap with school timings and aims to help students and parishioners participate in the Eucharist before the start of the day, thereby fostering students' spiritual growth alongside their academic responsibilities.

- OFFERTORY COLLECTION:

Last Sunday’s collection amounted to Rs 72,210/-
This amount will be sent to Archbishop House being the Second Sunday collection.

- PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL 2026-29 ELECTION RESULTS: The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) Elections were successfully held on 25th and 26th April. We thank all parishioners for your active participation and taking the time to Vote. The election results have been displayed on the Church notice board. We congratulate the elected members and pray for God’s blessings upon them as they serve our parish. Let's all support them with our prayers and help them out as they serve our community.

- PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL 2026 – 29 ELECTIONS: The PPC Elections will be held after the evening mass on Saturday, 25th April and after all masses on Sunday, 26th April. Election booths will be set up within the church campus, where you are encouraged to exercise your right to vote as responsible parishioners. All parishioners of Sacred Heart Church, Vashi, who possess a valid Family Card issued by the parish and whose names appear in the parish census are eligible to vote. Kindly remember to carry your Family Card with you. Age Criteria for Voters 18 years and above.

- MASS SCHEDULES DURING THE MONTH OF MAY 2026:

- EXHUMING OF GRAVES: Those burials that have completed Two and a half years need to be exhumed to make space for new burials. Parishioners whose deceased family members have been buried for over two and a half years are requested to visit the Parish office in this regard.

- DEV DAAN RECEIPT BOOKS: All SCC Dev Daan Collectors are requested to submit their Dev Daan receipt books to the Church office before 12th April during office hours for Auditing purpose.

- PPC 2026-29 ELECTION: The names of the candidates for the Parish Pastoral Council 2026 – 2029 Election have been put up on the notice board. If anyone feels that any candidate should not be standing for election because of some serious reason then they should give that reason to the parish priest in writing before Sunday, 19th April.

- EASTER BLESSING: Holy water will be available for blessing of homes at the Church on Easter Sunday. Home blessing Prayer has been sent to you on your community whatsapp group. The house should be blessed by the Head of the family in the presence of all family members on Easter Sunday, preferably at noon before lunch.

- PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING: Will be held on Sunday, 12th April at 10:30 am in the conference room.

- LENTEN ALMS: A box is placed in the Church to collect your Lenten Alms marked as ‘Lenten Alms’. Your contribution is for the support of Seminary. Cheque should be in favour of the ‘Archdiocese of Bombay’. Kindly be generous.

- PARKING ON FR ERROL ROSARIO MARG: In view of the Palm Sunday procession on 29th March commencing after the 6:30am Mass. - WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION: Women's Day Celebration of Sacred Heart Church, Vashi will be celebrated on Sunday, 22nd March. Holy Mass with a special liturgy will be held at 6 pm followed by a celebration at 7:15 pm onwards at Sacred Heart School Hall. All those who have registered please make a note for your kind participation.

- USHERS MEETING – HOLY WEEK: The Ushers will be meeting tomorrow/today i.e Sunday, 22nd March at 10:15am in the Conference Room on the first floor of the A Wing. All those interested to join the ushers group should attend this meeting.

- LENTEN CONFESSIONS: Guest priests along with our Parish Fathers will be available for Confessions on 23rd, 24th, and 25th March from 5 pm to 8 pm as part of the Lenten preparation.

- WAY OF THE CROSS: This Lenten season, the Way of the Cross on Fridays at 7 pm will be conducted by Cells and Association of our Parish, followed by Mass.

As the term of the previous Parish Pastoral Council has now been completed, the Archdiocese has instructed us to conduct elections for the upcoming term. We have already received nominations from several communities. However, some communities have not yet submitted their nominations. The communities of St. Jude (Sector ), St. Anthony (Sector 14 & 26) and St. Paul (Sector 28 & 29) are requested to kindly submit their nominations at the earliest so that the election process can proceed smoothly.

- BLOOD DONATION CAMP: NMMC Hospital in collaboration with the ROCK Group of our Parish, will conduct a Blood Donation Camp on Sunday, 15th March from 10 am to 12:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church, Vashi. During this Lenten season, we encourage all to donate blood and help save lives. Please also encourage your friends and neighbors to participate.

- WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION: The Women's Cell of our parish is organizing Women's Day Celebration on 22nd March at 7 pm in the Conference Hall. To register kindly GPay Maria Tellis 9822833867.

- LENTEN CONFESSIONS: Guest priests along with our Parish Fathers will be available for Confessions on 23rd, 24th and 25th March from 5 pm to 8 pm as part of the Lenten preparation.

- WAY OF THE CROSS: This Lenten season, the Way of the Cross on Fridays at 7 pm will be conducted by Cells and Association of our Parish, followed by Mass.

- LENTEN ALMS: A box is placed in the Church to collect your Lenten Alms marked as ‘Lenten Alms’. Your contribution is for the support of Seminary. Cheque should be in favour of the ‘Archdiocese of Bombay’. Kindly be generous

- ‘FEED THE HUNGRY’: SCC support towards distribution of food grains for the month of March – 2026 will be extended by St Blaise SCC (Sector 10). We would like to thank all the donors for their generous donations.

- REGISTRATION / FAMILY CARD: All families residing within the jurisdiction of Sacred Heart – Vashi Parish are requested to ensure they are registered in the Parish Census and possess a valid Family Card issued by the Church. The Family Card is mandatory for participation in sacramental programs such as Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, and for facilitating funeral procedures. Those who have not yet registered or obtained a Family Card are kindly requested to contact their SCC Coordinator or visit the Parish Office during office hours at the earliest.

- PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL 2026 – 29 ELECTION: According to the guidelines of the Archdiocese of Bombay, elections for the Parish Pastoral Council must be held every three years. As the term of the previous Parish Pastoral Council has now been completed, the archdiocese has instructed us to conduct elections for the upcoming term. We have already received nominations from several communities. However, some communities have not yet submitted their nominations. The communities of St Jude (Sector –
1), St Anthony (Sectors 14 & 26), St Dominic Savio (Sector – 15) and St Paul (Sectors 28 & 29) are requested to kindly submit their nominations at the earliest so that the election process can proceed smoothly.

- OFFERTORY COLLECTION:

Lenten Mission Collection amounted to Rs12,370/-

Announcements for the Week beginning Sunday, 08th March 2026

- DEV DAAN CONTRIBUTION: Parishioners who have not yet paid their Dev Daan contribution for the financial year April – 2025 to March – 2026 are kindly requested to do so before 15th March. - INSUFFICIENT NOMINATIONS FOR PPC ELECTIONS: At least three nominated candidates from each SCC are necessary to conduct a fair and impartial election for establishing the Parish Council 2026 – 29. However, it has been reported that some SCCs are struggling to meet this prerequisite number. Please note that ‘No Representation’ of an SCC at the Parish Council is not an inconsequential matter. Hence, you are hereby urged to kindly assist your present community animators in identifying and obtaining the required number of nominations from your respective SCCs.

- BLOOD DONATION CAMP: NMMC Hospital in collaboration with the ROCK Group of our Parish, will conduct a Blood Donation Camp on Sunday, 15th March from 10 am to 12:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church, Vashi. During this Lenten season, we encourage all to donate blood and help save lives. Please also encourage your friends and neighbors to participate.

- ORGANIC PRODUCE FROM MAHAD MISSION: Organic watermelons freshly grown on the farms of Jankalyan Trust, Mission Station, Mahad will be available for sale at a reasonable price on Saturday, 7th March (evening) and Sunday, 8th March (after all Masses) in the Church Quadrangle.Kindly patronize generously and support this initiative. Please bring your own carry bags.
