Ankarath Parijathapuram Vishnu Kshetram Family temple of the Ankarath Tharavad at Nallepilly, Palakkad District, Kerala, India (ankarathvishnutemple.com)

The Ankarath Parijathapuram Vishnu Kshetram is the family temple of the Ankarath family located on the Ankarath Tharavad premises at Nallepilly Town, Palakkad District, Kerala, India. The Ankarath family is an ancient, aristocratic and well known Nair Tharavad in the Palakkad region of Kerala State. The ancesteral Ankarath Tharavad (approximately 300 years old) is located in an area of approximate

ly 4.5 acres, in Nallepilly town of Palakkad district. It houses the “tharavad home” of the Ankarath family and all its “thavazhis”, in a large “Ettukettu” and several “Pathayappuras” built in the typical Kerala style of architecture with laterite stones and lots of intricate and ornate wood work.Sadly, with the passage of time, many of these buildings have fallen into states of disrepair. The temple of Lord Mahavishnu (“the kuladeivam of the Ankarath family”) has however stood the test of time. It always was, and continues to be the nerve centre of the family home. The male and female members of the Ankarath family are known as of “Mannadi Nayars” and “Nethiyars” respectively.

This decision was taken at the meeting of the Ankarath Parijathapuram Vishnu Kshetram Trust at Nallepilly on 5th December 2021. The temple will be reopened or the public as soon as COVID 19 settles a little more.
