On 26 September, Mrs. Naini Kohli, Secretary, JPIC Magnet Club, St. Mary’s Convent College, Nainital, along with Mrs. Anubha Joshi, Mrs. Darshana Rawat Bhakuni and Mrs. Ravneet Kaur, participated in the JPIC Teachers’ Workshop held at Jesu Bhawan, CJ Provincial House, Rohini, Sector 29, and organised by the Delhi Province.
The workshop brought together representatives from seven schools: St. Mary’s Convent College, Nainital; Mount St. Mary’s Convent College, Lalpur, Rudrapur; St. Francis’ Convent College, Jhansi; St. Anthony’s Convent School, Jeolikote; Nirmala Convent School, Jhansi; St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi; and Loretto Convent School, Delhi Cantt. It provided a meaningful platform for reflection, sharing and collaborative action towards Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC).
The programme commenced with a prayer service and hymn, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the diya by Sr. Deepa CJ, Provincial Superior. The sessions focused on the spiritual foundations and mission of JPIC. Sr. Anjali CJ, Delhi Province Sister Coordinator, shared her rich experience and introduced the participants to the vision of JPIC, highlighting its relevance in education and everyday life. Sessions led by both the sisters focused on human rights, peace and reconciliation, ecological sustainability, responsible action and the role of education in fostering a more just and sustainable society.
A significant highlight was the presentation by Mrs. Naini Kohli, Secretary, JPIC Magnet Club, SMC Nainital, who showcased the comprehensive work and initiatives undertaken by the school in the areas of justice, peace, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
As an outcome of the workshop, the JPIC Action Plan 2026–27 included two key collaborative initiatives: the establishment of a Student Policy Research Wing and Tech-Ethics Mentorship, focusing on gender equity, AI ethics and digital privacy; and Inter-School Climate and Peace Advocacy through an annual Delhi Province Inter-School Climate Debate League and a Youth Peace Symposium focusing on environmental concerns, non-violence and human rights.
The workshop concluded with group presentations based on the “See, Judge, Act, Evaluate and Celebrate” framework, encouraging schools to translate awareness into reflection, intellectual engagement and meaningful community action. The discussions also emphasised the importance of AI awareness, responsible digital citizenship and prevention of cyberbullying among students. Creating awareness about the ethical and responsible use of technology, protecting digital dignity and fostering respectful online behaviour can contribute significantly to the JPIC objective of promoting justice, peace, human dignity and responsible care for others in the digital world.
