MYSURU: Mysuru CRI organised a seminar on Psycho-sexual Integration on Oct 14, 2018 at Pushpashram. Rev Sr Rose Celine the Superior General and National President of Women’s wing of CRI was the resource person. Nearly 300 Religious Sisters, Priests and Brothers attended the seminar. Her talk in the context of sexual abuses among the clergy and the religious was enlightening and she laid emphasis on Psycho-sexual integration

BENGALURU: Apostolic Nuncio to India Archbishop Giambattista Diquattro met the Bishops and Major Superiors of Religious Congregations working in Karnataka and the Secretaries and Joint-Secretaries of the 18 Regional Commissions of Karnataka on Sept 12, 2018 at Palana Bhavana – Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Bengaluru.

Rev. Fr. Peter Machado, the Archbishop in his welcome welcome gave an overall picture of the church in Karnataka and later Fr. Lourduswamy, the Director of KROSS presented to the Nunciao the Regional Pastoral Plan. Fr. Stanislus Jerome D’Souza, SJ, the President of KRCR gave a brief report on the life and mission of the Religious in Karnataka taking back to the historical origins.

The Nuncio in his address appreciated the work that being done in Karnataka and called for mutual collaboration between the clery, religious and laity.

BENGALURU: The Regional Commission for Formation organized a seminar for the Major Superiors and their delegates on Aug 9, 2018 at NBCLC, Bengaluru.

Rev. Francis Serro, SJ, Bishop of Shimoga and the Chairperson of the Regional Commission for Formation, in his key note address highlighted the difficulties that the religious congregations are facing in recruiting vocations and in nurturing them through the formative years. There were around 100 participants.

Fr. Victor George, a Canonist from the Diocese of Mangalore was the respource person spoke on “Trends in Vocation and Formation to Priesthood and Religious Life” from the canonical perspective.
Fr. Richard Britto, the Secretary for the Commission welcomed the gathering and Sr. Jyothi Fernandes, UFS thanked.

Fr Arun SJ from Manvi gave a talk on ‘new wine in new wine skins’ after which elections were held of the executive members. The following were elected to the post:

The Annual General Body Meeting of the KRCR Unit of Gulbarga was held in July 14, 2018 at Sugyan Diocesan Pastoral Center Kotnoor.

Rev. Dr. Robert Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga who was present at the meet appreciated the contribution of the Religious in the Diocese and requested to work in collaboration in actualizing the Diocesan Pastoral Plan.

Rev. Fr. Anand Prabhu delivered a talk on ‘Fundamentals of Religious Calling’. He inspired the gathering to strengthen their contemplative life, continue the mission of Jesus by being the co-creators with God and to discern like Jesus in doing always the will of God responding to the present day situations.

After the talk Rev. Fr. Jerald D’Souza SJ conducted the elections.

MYSURU: KRCR Unit of Mysuru, held its Annual General Body meeting on on July 15, 2018 at Teresian College Auditorium.
The Meeting with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Stifan Perera, Executive Secretary of KRCR. Fr. Dominic Vas, the President Mysuru CRI preached a fitting homily on prophetic witness of Religious Life.
Later Pro. Babu Matthew, Prof at Law College, Bengaluru presented a paper on “The Indian political scenario today and our response as Religious as we are on the threshold of 2019 General Elections".
More than 300 priests and religious participated in the seminar which ended with agape.
