There are moments in life when you feel like you have fallen too far.
You tried to keep going, but the weight became too heavy. The mistakes piled up. The distance between who you are and who you hoped to be started to feel impossible to cross. You may lie in the dust of disappointment and wonder if God can still reach you from where you are.
But the message of Scripture says something different.
In Isaiah 59:1, the prophet reminds us, “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear” (NIV). In other words, God has not lost His ability to reach you. His power has not weakened. His mercy has not run out.
Sometimes we imagine God standing at a distance, waiting for us to climb our way back to Him. But the truth is that God is the one who reaches first. Even when we are tired, broken, or lying in the middle of a desert season, His hand is still extended toward us.
Think about the story of Peter in **Matthew 14. When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk toward Jesus, he began with courage. But when the wind grew strong and fear filled his heart, he started to sink. In that moment, Peter cried out, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him (Matthew 14:30–31 NIV).
Immediately.
Jesus did not wait for Peter to prove himself. He did not lecture him while he was sinking. He simply reached down and pulled him up.
That is the heart of God.
No matter how deep the sand of regret feels beneath you, no matter how far the journey seems, you are never beyond the reach of His hand. His grace stretches farther than your failures. His love reaches deeper than your fears.
You may feel like you are at the lowest point right now. But sometimes the most powerful moment in a person’s life happens when they simply lift their hand and cry out to God.
Because the moment you reach toward Him, you will discover something beautiful.
He has already been reaching toward you.
