In today's Gospel we see the Sadducees trying to trap Jesus. The Sadducees who belonged to an aristocratic group of priestly families did not accept resurrection from the dead, try to ridicule Jesus with a fictitious case. They raise a legalistic and cynical question based on the law of levirate marriage (Deut 25:5-10), designed to show how absurd belief in the resurrection was. Then we see Jesus exposes their lack of faith in the power of God as well as their shallow understanding of their Sculpture.
Its the time for us also to think about our faith in relation with the the depth of knowledge that we have about the Scripture. Let us try to deepen our faith through deepening our knowledge in the Scripture.
