Prayer and Dedication for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

After spending more than two months in Ladakh, primarily resting and taking care of his health, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the supreme ornament of the three realms and the universal treasure of Tibet, kindly granted audiences to many thousands of devoted people who came from the local area and from various parts of the world. Having carried out these extensive activities for the benefit of beings, His Holiness is scheduled to return to the PHOEDRANG (Palace)at Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, on September 4, 2026.

In connection with this auspicious occasion, the entire monastic community of Gaden Shartse Monastery conducted special long-life and health prayers (shabten) for His Holiness during the monks’ morning and midday tea gatherings today.

We earnestly offer our prayers and dedications for the long and stable life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the supreme protector and guardian of the teachings and all sentient beings throughout the vast expanse of space. May His Holiness’s life remain stable for hundreds of eons, and may all his vast and noble aspirations be swiftly and completely fulfilled.

Message of Condolence

On August 26, 2026, devastating floods struck several border regions between Tibet and Nepal—including Gyirong (Kyidrong) and Rasuwa—causing numerous casualties, widespread damage to homes, and immense hardship for the affected communities.

The entire monastic community of Gaden Shartse Monastery offer our deepest condolences and heartfelt solidarity to all those affected by this tragic disaster.

A special prayer service (Monlam) and offering for the deceased and surviving victims will be held in the monastery's assembly hall on August 30, 2026, at 10:30 AM.

Announcement of the Lamrim Chenmo Teachings at Gaden Shartse Thoesam Norling Monastery

As previously announced, beginning on the 6th day of the 7th Tibetan month, corresponding to August 18, 2026, during the Great Summer Retreat, His Eminence the Venerable Shartse Chöje Jetsün Ngawang Jorden Palsangpo, an incomparable illuminator of the Buddha’s teachings, will bestow teachings on The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment (Lamrim Chenmo) at Gaden Shartse Thoesam Norling Monastery, one of the great monastic institutions of Gaden Monastery , the seat of the great Je Lama Tsongkhapa.

This teaching is being given in accordance with the monastery’s long-standing tradition during the Great Summer Retreat.

Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with the repeated and earnest supplications offered to the Illuminator of the Doctrine, His Eminence the venerable Zong Choktrul Tenzin Wangdak Thinley Gyaltsen Rinpoche, by Gaden Shartse Thosam Norling Monastery together with Geshe Tenzing Tamding and Geshe Jampa Choeden, both of whom have widely propagated the Buddha dharma throughout numerous countries of the East and the West His Eminence has graciously consented to bestow the following precious teachings.
