On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the great monastery of Ganden Jangtse Thoesam Norling:
Marking the 49th-day memorial of the late Tibetan patriotic hero, Rangzen Lodoe, who self-immolated in front of the United Nations headquarters to swiftly vindicate the truth and freedom of Tibet's religion, politics, and people—sacrificing his precious body, life, and all worldly possessions—the ocean-like assembly of monks, led by Kyabje Khen Rinpoche and the former Khen Rinpoches, held a profound service of remembrance and mourning.
Through the extensive performance of the Lama Chopa (Guru Offering) ritual, prayers, and offerings, they offered fervent prayers that the noble patriot and all of Tibet’s brave martyrs, life after life, may be embraced and guided with delight by the Supreme Noble Chenrezig (Holder of the White Lotus). They prayed that they may take rebirth once again in the Land of Snows, that Tibetans inside and outside Tibet may be reunited, and that all may soon enjoy the auspicious fortune of a completely free and independent Tibet.
