Gospel of the Day (John 20,19-23)

On the evening of that first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, «Peace be with you.»
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
(Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."

With Jesus in the morning

Breath Sent Forth

Today, come to the Upper Room of the Risen Jesus with your fears, your doubts, and your closed doors.

"As the Father has sent me, so I send you. Receive the Holy Spirit" (Jn 20:19–23).

Ask Him to breathe His Spirit upon your life, that you may not remain trapped in comfort or distracted by superficial things. Let Him send you to be a presence of peace where there is tension, and of care where there is a lack of necessities.

Entrust this day to Him so that your work, your encounters, and your decisions may become a mission, especially in the way you treat food, which is a gift that should not be wasted.

Amen.

Gospel of the Day (John 21,20-25)

Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved, the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper and had said, "Master, who is the one who will betray you?"
When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about him?"
Jesus said to him, "What if I want him to remain until I come? What concern is it of yours? You follow me."
So the word spread among the brothers that that disciple would not die. But Jesus had not told him that he would not die, just "What if I want him to remain until I come? (What concern is it of yours?)"
It is this disciple who testifies to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true.
There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written.

True Witness

Today, desire to live in truth, without comparing yourself to others or letting yourself be distracted by their lives.

"This is the disciple… and his testimony is true" (Jn 21:20–25).

The Lord entrusts His Gospel to fragile witnesses. Ask Him to make you faithful in small things; ask him to let your words be pure and your actions consistent. May you not be overcome by curiosity about others’ paths, but rather by responsibility for your own. Ask the Lord to give you an attentive heart to care for what you receive—time, possessions, food—and so that what is necessary is not lost through carelessness.

Today, place your day before Him. May your decisions be marked by truth and mercy. Amen.

Gospel of the Day (John 21,15-19)

After Jesus had revealed himself to his disciples and eaten breakfast with them, he said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
He then said to him a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."
He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." (Jesus) said to him, "Feed my sheep.
Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go."
He said this signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when he had said this, he said to him, "Follow me."

With Jesus in the morning

Tending the Flock

Today, hear Jesus’ words to Peter as if they were meant for you.

"Feed my lambs… feed my sheep" (Jn 21:15–19).

Loving God is not a feeling; it is taking care of your brothers and sisters. Ask Him to teach you to care without dominating, to serve others without growing weary, to support the fragile without impatience.

May the way you work and organize your life be nourishment for someone; a word that lifts them up, concrete help, or genuine care.

Offer Him this day so that your love may be translated into responsibility and mercy. Amen.
