HE SAYS: “WEEP NOT!” – Thursday June 11th 2020

Memorise: And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. John 16:22

Read: Luke 7:11-15 (KJV)
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

Bible in one year: 1 Kings 7, 2nd Chronicles 4, Hymn: Sing hymn 14

Message: -
Weeping is a natural response to sorrow and pain, which abound in the world today because the devil is busy stealing, killing and destroying lives and destinies. The good news however, is that our Lord Jesus Christ and He alone, has the power to wipe, away and put an end to calamities and lost.

“And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her; and said unto her, Weep not.”
Luke 7:13

Jesus is saying to you also today “Weep not.”

There was a man who had lived in sorrow and pain for thirty-eight years because, according to him, he had no one to help him. When Jesus came to the scene, his problem was solved without any human assistance. No matter the number of years of suffering you may have experienced, the mighty God will attend to your situation right now in the mighty name of Jesus.
I want you to know that your moment of refreshing is around the corner. Don’t quit; the Almighty God will restore to you all that you have lost. In Job Chapter 1, there were reports upon report of all the disasters befalling everything Job had – including his children. However, the Bible tells us that the Almighty God blessed the latter days of Job more than the former (Job 42). I want to rest assured that no matter how harsh the economic climate may be, the Almighty God will sort you out in the mighty name of Jesus.
There is also hope for nations. In 2nd Kings 7:1, the economy of Samaria was so bad, but the man of God prophesied that things would dramatically change for the better within twenty-four hours. Those who understood global economic said it was impossible, but the Almighty God performed His word. Weep not; the rain of God’s grace and mercy is about to fall in your life and nation, in the Mighty name of Jesus.

Prayer Point
In the mighty name of Jesus, I will never weep again.

Fighting God?

Memorise: Thus said the LORD, what iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? Jeremiah 2:5

Read: Isaiah 45:5-9(KJV)
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lorddo all these things.
8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it.
9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

Bible in one year: Deuteronomy 31-32, Ezekiel 16:15-34, Hymnal: Sing hymn 17

Message:-
The title of today’s devotional is a question we all need to answer. Is it possible for a mere mortal to fight God? The word of God makes it clear that even though it’s an exercise in futility, in reality, it is something people do. Psalm 2:1-3 says:
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”
This scripture describes what is happening in our world today. The government of several nations have taken counsel against God and against Jesus Christ, His Anointed. Teachings about God have been thrown out of public schools, praying publicly in the Name of Jesus is forbidden, and preaching in public spaces in the Name of Jesus Christ is illegal in many societies. As prophesied in this scripture, some societies have cast away the Biblical cords of restraint that hitherto defined mortality. In the name of freedom of thought and self, they have broken off the bands of God’s commandments and created room for individuals to indulge in and advocate for all manner of profane lifestyles. People should remember that all those who towed this path in times past ended up being destroyed. You cannot fight God without grave consequences.
Are you guilty of fighting God? Do you even believe in Him? Those who don’t believe God exist are indirectly saying that they are not answerable to His authority. This sets them in direct confrontation with God, and He can choose to prove His existence to them. Pharaoh provoked God to prove Himself by his utterances in Exodus 5:2, saying:
“…Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.”
Those who provoke God to prove His existence and capabilities are fighting Him. Those who move God to jealousy by breaking the covenant they made with Him are also fighting Him (Isaiah 45:9; Jeremiah 2:5). The children of Israel broke the covenant they had with God by disobeying His ordinances.
This made God jealous, causing Him to fight against them. I pray that you will not provoke God’s anger in Jesus’ Name. What is the state of the covenant between you and the Lord Jesus Christ, which you entered into at the altar of repentance? Have you crucified Him afresh and put Him to shame by falling away from the truth (Hebrews 6:4-6)? Are you abiding by the covenant to tithe, or have you joined scoffers to trample God’s commandment under foot? Beloved, In whatever areas you are fighting God, repent today before it is too late.

Action Point
Examine whether you have broken any part of your covenant with God and repent.

AT GOD’S OWN TIME –

Tuesday July 2nd 2019

Memorise: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

Read: John 11:1-21 (KJV)
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Bible in one year: Deuteronomy 9-10, Ezekiel 9:1-10:2, Hymnal: Sing hymn 8

To enjoy your walk with God and avoid feelings of frustration, you need to recognise that God has His own timetable for everything that occurs in the life of every individual.
For example, when it is not time for a man to be rich, all his efforts towards prosperity will be in vain, no matter how hard he tries; but when God’s time comes, regardless of any contrary circumstances, he will become astonishingly rich with ease. In fact, God’s timetable includes the time of birth and death of everyone. When a person is not due to die on God’s timetable, nothing can kill him or her. However, when the time comes for someone to die, no medical practitioner or prayer warrior can prevent it. Hezekiah’s case may sound exceptional, but then, it boils down to the fact that God changed the programme for him (Isaiah 38). As children of the Most High, we need to grow in our knowledge of how God works. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says:
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
Since there is a time for everything and purpose, wisdom demands that we seek God’s face to know His will and timing, so that we don’t run ourselves to death pursuing shadows.
Martha in today’s Bible reading reflects the attitude that several believers have towards God’s timing of things. She accused Jesus of being too slow to respond to their SOS call when her brother was sick, possibly suggesting that Jesus was not concerned about his condition. That was very characteristic of Martha; she always wanted things done quickly and “No wonder Jesus once told her in Luke 10:41b:
“Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things.”
Until Martha, people of faith must be wary of the “microwave” style of living. It did not help situations in times past and cannot help today. Abraham cut corners to have a son in Ishmael, and the whole world is still paying dearly for it (Genesis 16). If only he had waited for God’s own timing! In spite of what he did, God was still faithful to His promise of giving him a son through Sarah; his hasty act was therefore unnecessary. King Saul also offered a sacrifice which he was not supposed to because he could not wait for God’s appointed time, and this marked the beginning of the end for him (1st Samuel 13:7-14). In order not to fall into the same error, we must receive David’s counsel in Psalm 37:7a, which says:
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:”
May the Lord grant you the grace to wait for His perfect timing. Are you unmarried? Please wait for God to send you your perfect mate at His own time, and do not make your own choice in haste. God bless you as you wait for Him in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point
Father, Please grant me the grace not only to know Your timing but to also wait for it.

GOD STILL CHOOSES FOR HIS OWN –

Thursday May 30th 2019

Memorise: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Read: Proverbs 3:1-8 (KJV)
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Bible in one year: Leviticus 14, Jeremiah 46:1-19, Hymnal: Sing hymn 3

Message:-
In these perilous times, we must always keep in mind that God is still in the business of choosing and directing the manner of life His children should live.

If God is trying to lead your life on a certain path, I rejoice with you, because this shows that He has special interest in you. When God shows special interest in a person’s life, it is because He wants to show His awesomeness to the world through that person. God will make you a sign-post to the world on the awesomeness of His power in Jesus’ Name. Jesus said in Matthew 22:14:

“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

We are the few? The few are those who allow God to chart the course of their lives and allow Him rule over their affairs. The level of which you allow God to have His way in your life shows how much you trust Him. Moses was a leader who would not do anything unless God approves of it. In his conversation with the Almighty, he emphatically told God in Exodus 33:15,

“…If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.”

How pleasant our lives would be if we make God the captain of our ship. David is another man who trusted God’s judgement and sought God’s direction whenever he was faced with difficult situations. When his camp at Ziklag was raided and his wives and children, as well as those of his soldiers, were all carried away as captives, one would have expected David, as the commander of the formidable army, to immediately ride out and pursue the raiders. On the contrary, he did not move until he got clearance from God (1st Samuel 30:8). Imagine the strength and confidence with which David pursued the marauding raiders once he got divine backing from the Lord of hosts Himself. When we allow God to chart the course of our lives, we can never suffer failure or defect. Children of God who gamble with their lives when taking critical decisions should blame themselves and not God when they fail or are defected.

Today’s Bible reading is full of divine wisdom and loaded with several benefits. It encourages us to keep God’s law in our hearts and allow it rule our lives. The result is that we will live a long and peaceful life. When we live within the framework of God’s precepts, He will favour us and cause men to favour us as well. Whenever you are where God wants you to be, you cannot expect anything less than His favour because you are in His will. Earlier in my life, my ambition was to be the youngest professor in my chosen discipline. However, the Lord commanded me to carry my cross and continue from where my father in the Lord stopped. I am enjoying my life today because I answered “Yes Lord.” No other answer could have turned out better for me. Beloved, let God choose for you! Don’t be among those who think they can use and dump God for their selfish interest. In your career, marriage, where to settle in life and so on, acknowledge the supremacy of God’s judgement and align yourself with His purpose. You will not regret you did.

Action Point
Yield to the Lord in every area where you have been battling with His choice for you.

THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE – Tuesday May 28th 2019
Memorise: Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Ephesians 4:28

Read: Genesis 26:12-14 (KJV)
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.
13 And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
14 For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Bible in one year: Leviticus 10-12, Jeremiah 44:11-23, Hymnal: Sing Hymn 3
Message:-
Unemployment and poverty are some of the reasons people give for engaging in acts of stealing and fraudulent practices involving obtaining through false pretenses.

However, such people are not being sincere with themselves or with God. There is only one legitimate cure for lack, and its name is hard work. When people say there are no employment opportunities, I beg to differ. What people refer to as unemployment is the lack of the type of job they want. Such people fail to diversify the scope of labour they are willing to engage in, and so they keep looking for white collar jobs when there are other available jobs that can provide for their needs. Unfortunately, they consider such jobs to be beneath their status as graduates or professionals and hence choose to remain unemployed. Today’s Bible reading records how Isaac worked hard by sowing in a time of famine, notwithstanding the abundant blessings that were his by covenant! Those who steal to survive should learn from his example that there is an acceptable alternative to stealing, which is hard work centred on God. Furthermore, in today’s memory verse, the Holy Spirit expressly commands those who steal under the excuse of poverty and joblessness to find something good to do so that they can even have more than enough to give to others.

The story of Obalola serves to illustrate today’s topic. One day, he and his friend went to the seer to know what the future had in store for them. To Obalola, the seer said, “You will be king, if…”, but before the seer could finish, Obalola jumped up in excitement and sprinted away. In Obalola’s absence, the seer proceeded to deliver a prophecy to his friend. He had just begun, saying “You will die poor, unless….”, when Obalola’s friend also stormed off, annoyed at what he was hearing. Having heard from the seer, Obalola began to play around, boasting that he would be king someday. His friend on the other hand decided that he would not die poor.

This man went into the jungle with his farming implements and started farming. He worked the jungle until he turned it into a pleasant farm with crops being taken to the town for good money. In the course of time, the king of the town died and there was a famine in the land. Obalola’s friend with his great farm was the only source of survival for the town. Desperate for survival, the town’s people came to him and begged him to become their king. Meanwhile, Obalola had wasted his life boasting and waiting to become king; he died a pauper. Beloved, laziness in any form is not a Christian virtue. It makes people vulnerable to poverty, and poverty leads to desperate acts which erode integrity (Proverbs 24:30-34, Proverbs 30:7-9).

Prayer Point
Father, please give me the health and strength to work and be productive in life.

GODLY COUNSEL PRODUCES WISE DECISIONS –

Friday May 10th 2019

Memorise: Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14

Read: Genesis 41:33-40 (KJV)
33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.
35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.
37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.
38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?
39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Bible in one year: Exodus 13:14, Jeremiah 32:26-44, Hymn: Sing hymn 3
Message:-
In our daily lives, we need godly counsel. More importantly, people in power need to realise that they need godly counsel in order to rule well.
Godly counsel is vital for the success of any human endeavour. I pray that you will never suffer the famine of godly counsel all the days of your life in Jesus’ Name.
In today’s Bible reading, Pharaoh demonstrated the character of a wicked king. He dreamt a dream which he could not interpret, and he sought counsel to get its interpretation. Amazingly, it was Pharaoh’s cupbearer who offered him the counsel that led to his problem being solved. The counsel offered by the cupbearer was the result of his encounter with an oracle of God in prison. There are many lessons we can learn from this story, first of which is not to despise those whom God has placed around us, and not to ignore their counsel. Pharaoh could have dismissed the cupbearer’s counsel as coming from an uneducated person taking undue advantage of his access to the king.
Furthermore, who could have expected to find a genuine and accurate interpreter of dreams in a prison yard? It was indeed the “God-factor” that made the king seek after Joseph, for all odds were against him. The most interesting thing in the story is Pharaoh’s decision to put Joseph in charge of the massive project that resulted from the dream’s interpretation. How unsearchable are the ways of God!
A lot of godly counsel has been dismissed by people in leadership, leading to their downfall. This has also had destructive effects on the people they lead. Godly counsel can lead to wise decisions that will bring prosperity to communities, cities, nations and organisations. Leaders in all spheres of life should also learn from how Pharaoh placed a round peg in a round hole to achieve good governance. Pharaoh could have insisted on appointing an indigenous Egyptian to be in charge of the enormous project to be undertaken. He could also have bastardised the divine arrangement that God had put in place to save the whole of his empire.
Beloved, where do you seek counsel from? Do you go to God and his servants or to the devil and his soothsayers? Remember, only godly counsel can produce wise decisions in your life’s endeavours, regardless of the vessel God uses to deliver it. The Lord has on several occasions used my children in the Lord to give counsel that has taken our ministry to the level where it is today. This is why I cherish all the children the Lord has given to me in the faith, and why I endeavour to train them in the ways of the Lord, so that they in turn can be channels of godly counsel to me and those I set them over. This has worked and is still working for us.

Prayer Point
Father, help me to recognise and accept the godly counsel You send my way, in Jesus’ Name.

OPEN HEAVEN

PROSPEROUS THROUGH WICKEDNESS

Thursday May 9th 2019

Memorise: The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish. Proverbs 14:11

Read: Proverbs 1:24-33

24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Bible in one year: Exodus 11-12, Jeremiah 32:16-25, Hymn: Sing hymn 5

Message

Today, the Holy Spirit is asking you if your prosperity is built on wickedness. As today’s memory verse says, it is dangerous to prosper through wickedness.
One of my sons was delivered from being hooked by evil prosperity when he was offered a huge amount of money to defraud his organisation. He refused to be part of the deal because he knew the spiritual implication of being unequally yoked with the wicked (2nd Corinthians 6:14-18). The love of wealth makes a lot of people ignore God’s counsel, with devastating consequences. Such wealth will eventually grow wings and fly away. Proverbs 13:22 says that a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. In other words, if you manage to gather wealth by stealing, lying or other acts of wickedness, the Lord is saying that he will take that wealth from you and give it to the righteous. Are you tempted to gather wealth through acts of wickedness or enjoying wealth obtained through sin? God is saying to you today that He is willing to prosper you, but you have to repent from your life of sin.
There was once a famous surgeon who was very wicked. He used to charge his patients very high fees and was living off the misfortune of others. He eventually became very rich with many houses all over the place. However, he himself fell sick, and all the money he made through wickedness was spent to help him, but to no avail. He eventually died. Years ago, I went to the University of Ibadan, and after my ministration, my car wouldn’t start. It was discovered that water had mixed with the fuel in my car. The fuel tank had to be removed in order to separate this water from the fuel. After this was done, the car started working again. Likewise, for you to prosper, you must get rid of all ungodly elements in your business or work. Zacchaeus was wise enough to know that all the ill-gotten wealth at his disposal must be gotten rid of. He said to the Lord in Luke 19:8b:
“Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I gave to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.”
There was a very wealthy man in a city in South-western Nigeria who had a lot of houses but could not sleep well in any of them. He came for prayers, offering to give us all his houses if only he could begin to sleep well. Of course, we rejected his gift. Beloved, it is indeed foolhardy to “prosper” through wickedness. If you have accumulated riches through fraudulent and bloody means, repent today. Jesus Christ will forgive you and give you the grace to restitute your ways like he did for Zacchaeus. If you know these things and do them, it shall be well with you.

Prayer Point

Prayerfully restitute any wealth you acquired through falsehood immediately.

PREACH THE WORD I –

Tuesday May 7th 2019

Memorise: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2nd Timothy 4:2

Read: 2nd Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV)
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Bible in one year: Exodus 7-8, Jeremiah 31:31-40, Hymnal: Sing hymn 15
Message:-
Preaching is a divine instruction to be obeyed, not only by evangelists and pastors, but by all born again children of God.

It is simply telling people about the saving power of Jesus and persuading them to embrace the spiritual gifts He freely gives. Committing this great work into our hands and declaring us to be Christ’s ambassadors, the Holy Spirit says in 2nd Corinthians 5:19-20:

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as through God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

In today’s Bible reading, He instructed us to preach the word in seasons and out of season. In other words, we are expected to preach the word when it is convenient and when it is not convenient. He also tells us how to preach, saying our message should rebuke, reprove and exhort. Although the gospel is a message of love, it is not devoid of correction for those on the path of destruction, as some people erroneously believe. Any gospel that does not reprove its hearers is incomplete. The good news is supposed to convict those on the path of perdition to make a U-turn onto the path of life and righteousness. The gospel is also not devoid of rebuke for all men. Indeed our God is love, but some people forget that He is also a Consuming Fire to the ungodly. John the Baptist did not mince words in his preaching about the kingdom of God. In Matthew 3:1-8, he rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducee's of their hypocrisy and asked them repent. The message of our Lord Jesus Christ also contained rebuke. In Luke 13:2b-3, He said to His audience:

“Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

He also rebuked His Church at Ephesus, warning them that they had neglected their first love and exhorting them to repent (Revelation 2:1-5). Lastly, the message of our preaching should also exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. We must exhort in doctrine in order to raise mature Christians who are grounded in the ways of God. Some preachers claim to have been called to preach and not to teach doctrine.

One wonders where they got their ideology from. Any sermon that is void of doctrine is a lifeless oration. People cannot do the will of God they don’t know, and they only get to know the will of God through exhortation in doctrine (John 7:17). Beloved, you must go out there to preach, so that sinners can embrace the love of God and repent.
