Sai Baba of Shirdi (unknown – 15 October 1918), also known as Shirdi Sai Baba, was an Indian guru, yogi, and fakir who is regarded by his devotees as a saint. Shirdi Sai Baba Maha Samadhi Day or Sai Baba Punyatithi is the day when Saibaba left his mortal body for heavenly abode. It is observed on Vijaya Dashami every year. This day is a big festival in Shirdi and every other temple of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. Shirdi Sai Maha Samadhi day attracts large number of people from all over the world to Shirdi, Maharashtra. Various religious activities are organized on the festival day. Generally, Punyatithi celebrations are commenced for seven days by Mandals in India. The Punyatithi Utsav was started in Mumbai first by Bhandar Gully, Mahim in 1950. Sai Nath Utsav Mandal, Bhandar Gully, Mahim Mandal observes the special rituals for Saibaba Samadhi Utsav right from Sthapna of the holy Idol - Establishment, Bhandara – Food for the everyone, Kakad Aarti – Early Morning Aarti, Palkhi Miravnuk - Procession, Satyanarayan Pooja, Events & Activities for the society..
