HOW TO REDUCE OUR EATING

Question: How is it possible to reduce our eating?
Answer: By resolving to eat only Krishna prasadam. Once we make this resolution that, "I will not eating anything that is not offered to Krishna", then our diet will automatically reduce.
.. Just try it out.

This is tried and tested formula given by Śrīla Prabhupāda.

Hare Krishna.
All glories to Śrīla Prabhupāda.

MAJORITY OF HUMAN BEINGS ARE JUST LIKE COWS AND ASSES

Yesterday, I had gone to a goshala, a cowshed, where I witnessed that all the cows were busy eating various varieties of foodstuffs such as peas, carrots, rotis, grass, etc. However, they were not interested in discussing any spiritual topic. Even if I wanted to discuss some elevated spiritual knowledge, I was dettered by their total lack of intelligence in understanding spiritual matters. They did not possess the requisite intelligence to understand the Bhagavad Gita.

This is the position of mostly everyone in the present human society. Due to total absorption in eating, sleeping and s*x life, their intelligence has been blunted. Though we want to discuss elevated spiritual subject matters with them, we cannot do so because of their total absorption in eating, sleeping and s*x. They are just like animals who lack the required intelligence for understanding spiritual subject matters.

Seeing the cows, also reminded me of the Bhagavatam verse "sa eva go-kharah", wherein certain classes of people, who are not interested in associating with the devotees, have been compared to cows and asses.

This Bhagavatam verse raises many eyebrows because the cows are worshipable as mothers, but that is another issue. Cows are to be protected because they provide us with milk. But in this verse, the example of the cow should be understood in a proper perspective and not out of religious sentiment.

Arjuna is being protected by Kṛṣṇa. So even though Arjuna is not well-equipped, apratikāram, still he will be saved. Because Kṛṣṇa is there. Tāvad vibho tanu-bhṛtāṁ tvad-upekṣitānām (SB 7.9.19). And even one is well-equipped and if Kṛṣṇa does not like to save him, he'll not be saved. Always mind this.
