Dr. Pir Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani was a Pakistani-born Sunni Islamic Scholar who was a direct descendant of Sayyiduna Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Rahima'ullahu Ta'ala) and the Prophet Muhammadﷺ. He was a prominent Muslim figure based in the United Kingdom (UK) who was known for his activism against terrorism, promotion of Sunni Sufi thought, Islamic teachings based on love and peace. He was aslo known for organizing the first and the largest Mawlid-un-Nabi procession in Walthamstow, London. He also founded International Qadria Jilania Islamic University in Islamabad (Pakistan) and Darul Uloom Qadria Jilania, Walthamstow, London (United Kingdom). He was one of the first Islamic scholars in the West to issue an oral fatwa against terrorism.
