*At the meeting of the Deans with Cardinal Oswald Gracias on Wednesday, 18th November 2020, the following was decided:*

1. The churches may be opened for private adoration and care to be taken that those coming to church have their masks worn, maintain social distancing and sanitize their hands before entering the Church. It is highly recommended that parishioners above 65 years and below 10 years should refrain from coming to church as well as pregnant women and those with comorbidities. Physical greetings and congregating in the church premises to be avoided as well as touching of the sacred images in the Church or outside. Please paste notices about the same around the church.

2. On the Solemnity of Christ the King, the church can be kept open for Adoration throughout the day and other symbolic rituals with social distancing can be conducted if necessary. The mass and Adoration could be streamed to the parishioners.

3. After ensuring that all protocols are put in place, *Eucharistic celebrations to resume from Sunday, 29th November - the 1st Sunday of Advent.* Holy Communion to be given outside the Church, possibly in a separate hall if available or on the way out after mass. No hymn books to be used and no choirs to sing, however a cantor with accompaniment may be allowed. There should be no sprinkling of holy water. The PPC can be consulted about the streamlining of those attending mass daily and Sunday. Daily mass could be celebrated with the liturgy of Sunday.

4. Funerals and weddings can also be celebrated with the Eucharist in Church strictly maintaining the government prescribed number of 50 for weddings and 20 for funerals. In response to a query about Funeral in church of a person who may have succumbed to COVid, the Cardinal said that the family should be instructed to inform the police in advance.

5. The streaming of masses can continue till the Cardinal issues instructions.

6. The Cardinal felt that the parishes can invest in equipment required for sanitisation, especially since the protocol requires the same to be done after every mass.

6. About Christmas mass, confessions for Christmas, etc, the Cardinal will have another meeting with the Deans in the first or second week of December.
