A few days ago, I had the privilege of meeting Bhai Baldeep Singh ji and his wife, Maria Maurizia Costanzo. The conversation has continued to resonate with me.

Bhai Sahib’s lifelong commitment to preserving Sikh musical traditions, especially the rich Gurbāṇī Saṅgīt and Rabābī lineages, is truly extraordinary. His work through Anād Foundation stands as a powerful example of how heritage can be revived, protected, and shared with the world when approached with passion, scholarship, and devotion.

Meeting Maria was equally special. Her warmth, grace, and quiet strength create a deeply supportive presence that beautifully complements his mission.

I remain grateful for the time spent with both of them and deeply inspired by the impact they continue to make through their work.

A Magical Kirtan at My Home!

I had an amazing time hosting a special kirtan session at my home on August 11th, 2023 by Ustad Baljeet Singh Namdhari. I learn Gurmat Sangeet from him online twice a week. As I am his student, I had the privilege to start the Kirtan, and it was a truly heartfelt experience.

The Kirtan sung in Raag dari style, positive vibes, the lovely Sangat made the energy in the room peaceful and uplifting. Every corner of my home seemed to come alive with joy and harmony. As Kirtan and Shabads always have the power to transform the space into something magical.

Teachers Day September 2023 celebrated @ Dashmesh Jyot English Medium and Junior College Nanded

Letterprint Publications Pvt Ltd and Pragati Software Private Limited under the aegis of its ‘Mulgi Shikli Pragati Zaali’ program contributes to providing scholarships to deserving girl students. This program was started during the year 2020 during COVID where poor children were unable to pay their fees.

The goal of this program is to identify school going girl students specifically in standards 7th to 10th where the parents are unwilling or unable to pay the fees. The whole premise of this program is that if we can contribute to the continual education of a girl child, then India will grow and prosper.

We had identified the Shri Dashmesh Jyot English Medium and Junior College as the beneficiary of this program.

On Teachers Day, 5th September 2023 this year, our Executive Director Preeti Sharma visited Nanded and had the privilege to meet Sant Baba Jyotinder Singh Ji Meet Jathedar Sahib Ji, Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazoor Sahib, Founder of Shri Dashmesh Jyot English Medium School and Junior College, Shri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded and visit the school.

Also it felt so good to meet and spend time with Sardar Man Singh Principal of Dashmesh Jyot English Medium School and Junior College. Man Singh Ji was born and brought up at Nanded and is totally dedicated to providing quality education to students at the school. He personally supervises all the ascepts of running the School.

It was a beautiful feeling to see what change this school is making to society by educating 1050 students from far and near. Last year the school got a 99% percent pass out rate. The top ranked student...a girl….Manpreetkaur scored 97.40

Mesmerizing Kirtan Performance by Ustaad Baljeet Namdhari at Our Home in Mumbai on 11th August 2023.

We were honored to host a soul-stirring Kirtan at our home in Mumbai on 11th August 2023, featuring the illustrious Ustaad Baljeet Namdhari ji. The shabads of the Guru Granth Saheb along with Ustadji’s enchanting voice created an atmosphere of pure bliss and spiritual awakening. Ustadji was ably supported by his daughter Laxmi Namdhari, his son Fateh Singh Namdhari and his wife. Together it was a symphony of prayer and Hindustani Classical Music.

As the divine melodies filled the air, hearts were touched, and souls were uplifted. It was a truly unforgettable experience that reminded us of the power of Gurmat Sangeet to connect us with the higher realms.

About Ustad Baljeet Singh Namdhari - Tarshehnai maestro and vocalist

Ustad Baljeet Singh Namdhari hails from Khaper Kheri, India. He started his training in Indian classical music at a very early age from His Holiness Siri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji. The spiritual teaching he received in Sri Bhaini Sahib gives his music a quality described as "the kind of music that opens our hearts". Later he received vocal tuitions from Sant Mohinder Singh of Amritsar.

Ustad Baljeet Singh Namdhari is one of the finest exponents of the tarshehnai in the world today. The tarshehnai is a string instrument with bow, 4 main strings tune able with wooden metal k***s, 15 sympathetic strings tune able with metal k***s, 15 sympathetic strings tune able with ebony peg, fitted with metal horn, approximately 90 cms in length.

Ustad Baljeet Singh Namdhari is a Grade 'A' artiste of All India Radio and has performed extensively in National Radio and Television in addition to live concerts.

To further his passion for Classical Music he was been blessed with the great opportunity of learning from the legend maestros Ustad Vilat Khan and Ustad Bismillah Khan.

Alongside his expertise in playing the tarshehnai, he is endowed with a captivating voice and a fine sense of rhythm and bhava, especially in rendering compositions of ragas from the Adi Granth Sahib.
