The Abandoned Baby (Scene 2/41)

Suddenly, they hear a child crying from inside the bushes.

The King listens and follows the voice.

He is stunned to see a baby left alone in a cloth on the grass near the river bank.

The baby's face looked illuminated with prosperity and happiness.

He had worn a necklace with a golden bell on it.

At first, King was shocked to see someone abandon such a beautiful child at a lonely place.

But, at the same time, he was happy too as he realised that God has fulfilled his wishes.

Overly-excited King took the baby in his hands with love and rode back to his palace.

King showed the child to his Queen and even she jumped in joy.

Their eyes remained filled with tears of happiness for the whole day.

The King proclaimed to the whole kingdom that the child now on will be his own child.

They did his naming ceremony. A Sant of the kingdom kept his name as Manikandan because he had a bell hung on his necklace (mani means bell; kand means throat).

King Rajashekharan named him as Ayyappan.

All the kingdom people got happy seeing the happiness of their King and Queen.

Celebrations went day long throughout the kingdom.

Few years passed by and Ayyappa became 5 years old.

Story of Lord Ayyappa 🙏🌼☺️

The Unhappy King of Pandalam (Scene 1/41)

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom, named — Pandalam, located in the southern part of today's India.

The King of this kingdom — Rajashekharan enjoyed all sort of life pleasures.

He had everything he wished for. But, still he looked unhappy.

Once even his citizens took a notice of his grief that showcased over his face while he was taking visits of his kingdom.

The crowd discussed among themselves, "Our King has got everything in life. Still he remains discontented as Queen is not able to give him a baby. And, if there comes no successor to our King, then who will take care of our kingdom after him?".

The crowd remained clueless.

To get a baby, both the King and Queen found no other way than praying to Lord Shiva. They prayed with their heart out and did all possible from their side.

However, seeing the King under trouble, only one person in the kingdom was overwhelmingly happy. He was the Minister.

He knew if King gets no kids then he has a greater chance to sit on the throne after the King.

One day, thinking about the life problems, King Rajashekharan rides into the forest for hunting with his Minister and soldiers.

While entering the forest, flowers fell on him from the trees and birds flew in happiness whirling him. The King started feeling highly optimistic. He felt something great is going to happen in the next moment.

He even told the Minister about how he was feeling.

However, only to please the King, the Minister faked innocence and replied, "Your happiness is my happiness, my Lord. I am always happy for you. And, I'm with you."
