1) The first indication of this in the Glorious Quran is the event of Isa عليه السلام straight from his cradle to the people saying he is a prophet of Allah Almighty, and the Injeel has been revealed to him and he must be followed. This shows that a prophet is always a prophet since birth and always guided by Allah Almighty and never can be lost:
He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous."
(Surah Al-e-Imran Verse 46)
So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"
[Isa] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.
(Surah Maryam Verse 29-30)
2) The beloved prophet ﷺ himself mentioned his prophethood was bestowed upon him even before the creation of Adam
Narrated Abu Hurairah
"They said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! When was the Prophethood established for you?' He said: 'While Adam was between (being) soul and body.'"
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3609
The Prophet ﷺ was a prophet when Adam عليه السلام was still between soul and body. He only announced his prophet hood to the people at the age of 40, but in reality was always a prophet and a prophet can never be lost in anything other than being engrossed in the love of Allah Almighty.
3) The beloved prophet ﷺ even before the first revelation was in worship of his Lord Allah ﷻ and was aware of Allah ﷻ
Narrated 'Aisha رضي الله عنها (the mother of the faithful believers):
The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family. He used to take with him the journey food for the stay and then come back to (his wife) Khadija to take his food likewise again till suddenly the Truth descended upon him while he was in the cave of Hira. The angel came to him and asked him to read.
►Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith 3
All this was prior to the advent of Jibreel عليه السلام with the first revelation, He ﷺ use to be in seclusion engrossed in the love of Allah ﷻ, worshipping continuously for many days. From this narration it is also clear that the beloved prophet ﷺ was not unaware or astray or lost regarding faith of Allah ﷻ.
4) It is also mentioned in narrations to the fact that our beloved prophet ﷺ when he was born into this world the first thing that he ﷺ did was fall into the Sujood to Allah ﷻ, thus, showing he since birth was aware and always in the worship and love of Allah ﷻ and then only by age 40 Allah ﷻ guided the prophet ﷺ to announce his prophethood to the world in a manner that is befitting to the prophet and that would be most successful:
Abu Nu’aym reports from Abdullah bin Abbas رضي الله عنه who narrated that the mother of the Messenger ﷺ Sayyidah Amina رضي الله عنها used to state:
I went into labor and I delivered Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, I looked at him and saw that he was prostrating, and he raised his fingers to the sky like a beseeching supplicator.

5) Even before the prophet ﷺ revealed his prophethood the stones were even aware that He is a prophet and use to send salutations upon him ﷺ:
Jabir b. Samura reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
I recognise the stone in Mecca which used to pay me salutations before my advent as a Prophet and I recognise that even now.
Sahih Muslim 2277
6) aswell as the fact it is proven from many narrations and Mufasireen the beloved prophet ﷺ never worshiped any idol ever:
Tafsir Muharar al-Wajiz by Ibn Attiyah (d.546 AH):
Judge Abu Muhammad said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, never worshiped an idol.
7)Al-Khazin also under this verse makes mentions of afew points proving this, in Tafsir Khazin (Lubab al-Ta'wil fi Ma'ani al-Tanzil) by Al-Khazin (d. 725 AH):
A) This confirms what was narrated in the story of Buhair al-Raheb when the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked to swear by al-Lat and al-Uzza, when he travelled with his uncle Abu Talib to Syria and saw Buhaira as a sign of prophecy in him when he was a boy. So he tested him with that. The Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Do not ask me about them, for by Allah I do not hate anything because they hate them.”
B) This is confirmed by the opening of his chest, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, when he was young and extracting the leech-like substance from him, and Jibreel ’s saying, “This is Satan’s portion of you (which was removed), and it is filled with wisdom and faith.”
8) And the next point is a story of a hadith is narrated by Ali bin Abi Talib - may Allah be pleased with him - who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: I never cared about the ugly of what the people of the pre-Islamic era were concerned about.
Authentication:
The hadith is authentic: It was narrated by Ishaq bin Rahwayh in his Musnad, it was narrated by Muhammad bin Ishaq in the Sirah, and it was narrated by Ghabban Hibban in his Sahih, and it was narrated by Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak, and it was authenticated according to the conditions of Muslim, and these methods are good and great. It is a good and connected hadith and its men are trustworthy.
9)Even the Glorious Quran further proves this belief :
Your companion [i.e., Muḥammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred.
(Surah An-Najm verse 2)
The above are 9 proofs from the numerous all showing and indicating that the beloved prophet ﷺ was never lost, unaware so thus these meanings are invalidated and incorrect.
