Anas ibn Malik (RADIALLAHUANHU) served the Prophet ﷺ for 10 years.

He was still a young boy when his mother brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

For an entire decade, he remained in his service.

Anas (RA) said:

“The Prophet ﷺ never said ‘uff’ to me, never said to me concerning something I had done, ‘Why did you do that?’ nor concerning something I had not done, ‘Why did you not do that?’”

— Sahih al-Bukhari 6038

Think about that.

At the end of those years, the Prophet ﷺ made dua for Anas (RA):

“O Allah, increase his wealth and his children, and bless for him what You have given him.”

— Sahih al-Bukhari 1982
— Sahih Muslim 2480

And Allah answered that dua.
Anas (RA) was blessed with abundant wealth.
He was blessed with many children.
And he lived for more than one hundred years.
The barakah of the Prophet’s ﷺ dua remained with him throughout his life.

But pause for a moment.

Anas (RADIALLAHUANHU) was not serving the Prophet ﷺ for wealth.

He was serving him out of sincerity.

And Allah rewarded him in ways he could never have imagined.

Allah sees every sacrifice.

Allah remembers every act of sincerity.

And Allah rewards in ways that no one expects.

The same Allah who answered that dua in Madinah is still the same Allah today.

*So ask Him* | Trust Him*

And never think that your sincere efforts go unnoticed by your Lord.

اللَّهُمَّ أَكْثِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَهُ

Allahumma akthir mālahu wa waladahu wa bārik lahu fīmā a‘ṭaytah.

“O Allah, increase his wealth and his children and bless what You have given him.”

The lesson is not to chase dunya.

The lesson is that sincere service, good character, and devotion to Allah are never lost.
