Lalbaugcha Raja is a popular Ganesha idol located in Mumbai, India. The idol is worshipped during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is a 10-day celebration dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Lalbaugcha Raja is known for its grandeur and attracts a large number of devotees every year.

The history of Lalbaugcha Raja dates back to the 1930s. In 1932, a temporary market in the Peru Chawl area of Lalbaug was shut down by the government. The fishermen and vendors who lost their livelihoods due to the closure decided to start a Ganeshotsav Mandal (a community organization that organizes the festival) to bring some joy and prosperity back to their lives.

The Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, as it was initially known, started the tradition of installing a Ganesha idol in Lalbaug. The first idol was made of clay and was only about 1.5 feet tall. Over the years, the idol grew in size and popularity, and today, it stands at around 14 feet tall.

Lalbaugcha Raja gained immense popularity due to its unique charm and the fulfillment of devotees' wishes. People from all walks of life visit the pandal to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The idol is believed to be very powerful and is known as the "Navsacha Ganpati," which means the fulfiller of wishes.

Lalbaugcha Raja has become an iconic symbol of Mumbai's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and is known for its elaborate decorations and the grandeur of the pandal. It continues to be one of the most visited and revered Ganesha idols in Mumbai.
