Religious institutions including temples, gurudwaras, masjids have always been a continuous source for people to find solace and peace amidst their daily chores. Mary’s church is a place where the devotees could get to know various unexplored aspects of life, leaving aside the material world for a bit. And also gives them ample time to introspect and incorporate certain missing ingredients, which

could make their life more spicier. The church established in the name of mother Mary has been an epitome of spirituality, love, devotion and unity. Also a fact stands vindicated that – no sincere prayers and wishes go unanswered. There is a VICAR (The Priest), altar boys, managing committee, youth movement mainly to look into and carry out necessary religious activities. Holy services are carried out every Fridays (6-7pm), Saturday(6:30pm-7:30pm) and Sundays (7:00-11:00am). Services for various religious occasions are also duely performed. There are also the Sunday school (Bible class for children), Youth wing (MGOCSM) and the Marta Mariya samajam (for women) which functions in tandem with the parish. Mary’s Church, Vasco da Gama, there is another St. Mary’s parish situated at Ribandar, panaji with similar customs and practices. 59th Annual Feast of the Assumption of St. Mary – 3rd August 2025

The 59th Annual Feast of the Assumption of St. Mary commenced on 3rd August 2025 with the solemn celebration of the Holy Qurbana, followed by the ceremonial hoisting of the Feast Flag by Rev. Fr. Joseph Chacko.

As part of the inaugural day’s spiritual enrichment, Rev. Fr. Dr. Ivan D'Almeda conducted an insightful seminar on “The Bible and Mental Health”, offering a meaningful reflection on the connection between faith and emotional well-being.
