Thiruvanayi Shiva temple and Vasupuram Vishnu temple are very important as far as the devotees are concerned. They are located at Kayani in Mattanur municipality .It is believed that the temples are as old as about 1800 years. These temples are the only shiva-vishnu temples which are located on the shore of river. The water from the holy river Thiruvanayi was used abhisheka.
