Mangaladevi Temple The Mangaladevi Temple is a Hindu Temple at Bolar in the city of Mangalore,india situated about three km of southwest of the city center.

The temple dates back to the ninth century when Kundavarman, the most famous king of the Ahepa dynasty, was ruling Tulu Nadu. During this period, there were two holy saints of the Nath cult, Machhendranath and Gorakhnath, who came from Nepal. They reached Mangalore, crossing the river Nethravathi. The place where they crossed the river came to be known as Gorakdandi. They chose a place near the ba

nks of the Netravathi which was once the centre of activities of the sage Kapila. He had his hermitage there and it was a great center of education. Hearing about the arrival of the two saints, the king came to meet them. Introducing himself as the king of Tulu Nadu, he paid his respects and offered them patronage. Pleased with the humility and virtues of the king, they informed him that his kingdom needed to be sanctified. They requested him to grant them land so that they could build a hermitage and make it a centre for their religious activities under his protection and patronage. This ancient history surprised the king. He then came to know that his land was dedicated to Mother Mangaladevi. It was from these saints he came to know that once upon a time there existed a temple in his land dedicated to her. From their own mother he heard the story of Vihasini and Andasura, Parashurama and the temple built by them. The two saints took the king to the sites where all these historical events had taken place. They asked the king to dig the place and relieve the lingam and the dharapatra symbolising Mangaladevi and install them in a shrine along with Nagaraja for providing protection. Kundavarman carried out the advice of the two sages. A grand shrine to Mangaladevi was built on the hallowed place. The two sages themselves guided and supervised the ex*****on of the work. The temple attained special significance as Mangaladevi granted special favours, especially to maidens, who worshipped the goddess by observing Mangaladharavrata and got their wish of a suitable husband fulfilled. Even today the two temples of Mangaladevi and Kadri, Mangalore have maintained their connection. The hermits of Kadri Yogirajmutt visit Mangaladevi temple on the first days of Kadri temple festival and offer prayer and silk clothes. The city of Mangalore takes its name from the main deity of the temple, Mangaladevi. The temple was built as a memorial to a 10th century princess of Malabar Mangale.

Sri Vara Mahalaxmi vrutham shall be celebrated tomorrow in the presence of our beloved Goddess Mangaladevi, the whose heart beats for her beloved devotees, the one who is very merciful and also the ruler of the whole world.

The moment we think of Mangaluru, the first thing that hits out mind is the thought of Mangaladevi temple. No matter, how deeply, we have sunk inside the ocean of troubles, the very thought of hers, shall free us all from all our difficulties. Thus, our beloved goddess looks after each and every one of us, born in this world with her motherly love. It's the time for the Vara mahalaxmi vrutham which is celebrated in the month of shravana and on the favourite day for goddess Lakshmi, Friday. 😍✨

Shravana month, a time for the festival seasons. Beginning from Nagara panchami, this month is the time to rejoice, celebrate and have loads of auspicious events to be held in this period. Thus, our hearts and soul shall be pleased with the auspicious events like vrutha, pooja, archana and devatha aradhana during this month. The rains that start pouring down heavily during the ashlesha nakshatra shall begin to soften it stands during the new moon period of the shravana month. Thus paving a way for us to rejoice the Vara mahalaxmi vrutha, that is to be held tomorrow.

Shravana is a month considered to be having good and energetic days in it. On the full moon day, moon shall reside in the shravana nakshatra. Forepart to this is tomorrow's Vara mahalaxmi vrutham celebrated with great pomp and grandeur throughout the state. This vrutha shall be celebrated with great devotion by the ladies and is the day of goddess Lakshmi, who bestows the boon of prosperity and wealth to all.❤️

Sri Mahalakshmi resides in the chest of lord Mahavishnu. She is one who possess all the wealth, living majestically and is the one who doesn't stay in a place permanently and is called chanchala, the one who keeps travelling from one place to another.

As per the panchanga, swasti, Sri Parabhava nama samvatsara (year named Parabhava ), dakshinaya ( time of the year where the sun moves from north to south) , Shukla paksha (waxing phase of the moon), the day before the full moon and is the Third friday of the shravana month, Vara Mahalaxmi vrutham shall be celebrated in the temple premises as per every year. This year the Vara mahalaxmi vrutha shall be celebrated in a very gracious manner.

Specially on this occasion of tomorrow, our beloved goddess Mangaladevi shall adorn the beautiful altar of goddess Mahalakshmi. She can be seen holding a lotus in her hand and an pot of gold and other precious items inside it, ready to bestow upon her devotees the shower of prosperity and wealth. She can also be seen holding her hands in abhaya and varada mudra and seated in a padmasana posture.😘

Sri Mahalakshmi, the one who is the abode of all the richness, appeared during the churning of the ocean by the Devas and asuras. She bestowed goodness upon the Devas and held the hand of Sriman Narayana and married him on this Friday, during the shravana month.

It is said that, if goddess Mahalakshmi is worshipped on this day in the form of penance or vow, she will be happy and bless her devotees and remove all their poverty and bestow them with good children and grandchildrens. The ones who celebrate this pooja with great devotion and love towards goddess Lakshmi shall be bestowed with the boon of good times ahead and success shall be theirs in all the work undertaken by them.

The ones who listen to the story of Mahalaxmi vrutha on this occasion shall be bestowed with good health, wealth, happiness, prosperity, children and grandchildrens, ample amount of food, etc in their lives. This belief is the reason behind the temple authorities to perform this pooja in the temple for the welfare of all the devotees and everyone of them, who have great belief in our beloved goddess Mangaladevi.

The ones who listen and tell the story of Mahalaxmi vrutha tomorrow in great zeal and devotion, shall be bestowed upon good health, wealth and prosperity and shall also reach the divine feet of our beloved goddess in the end. ಪರಶುರಾಮ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯ ಮಂಗಳೂರನ್ನು ನೆನೆದಾಗ ಮೊದಲು ನೆನಪಾಗುವುದೇ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಂಗಳಾದೇವಿ ಅಮ್ಮನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನ. ಜೀವನದ ಯಾವುದೇ ತಾಪತ್ರಯವಿದ್ದರು ಆ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿದರೆ, ಅವಳ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿವಾರಣೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಸದಾ ವಾತ್ಸಲ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಕರುಣಾ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ನೋಡುವ ಮಹಾದೇವಿಯ ಸನ್ನಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಳಿನ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು ವರ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ವೃತವು ವರ್ಷಂಪ್ರತಿಯಂತೆ ಸಡಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.

ಇದೀಗ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸ. ಹಬ್ಬಗಳ ಸರಮಾಲೆಯೇ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ. ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸ ನಿಸರ್ಗವೇ ನಲಿವಿನ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಸಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂತೋಷವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ಸುಂದರ ಸಮಯ. ಇದು ಶ್ರಾವಣಮಯ; ಆನಂದಮಯ. ಶುಭಕಾರ್ಯ, ದೇವತಾರಾಧನೆಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮೆರೆಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ವೃತ, ಪೂಜೆ, ಅರ್ಚನೆ, ಆರಾಧನೆ ಶ್ರಾವಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆರ್ಭಟಿಸಿದ ಆಶ್ಲೇಷ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದ ಮಳೆಗೆ ಭೋರ್ಗರೆವ ಶರಧಿ ಬರುವ ಮುಂದಿನ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ದಿನ ಶಾಂತವಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಇದೀಗ ವರಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸಲು ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ.

🌸' _ಶ್ರಾವಣ_'🌸 ಎಂದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕ ದಿನಗಳು ಪರಿಭಾವಿಸುವ ದಿನಗಳ ಮಾಸವೆಂದೇ ಬಿಂಬಿತ. ಚಂದ್ರನು ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ದಿನ ಶ್ರವಣ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಾಸವೇ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸ. ಚಂದ್ರನು ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮಾ ದಿನ ಶ್ರವಣ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಈ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌರ್ಣಮಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿಯಾಗಿ ಬರುವ, ನಾಳಿನ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು ನಾಡಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸುಮಂಗಲೆಯರು ಶೃದ್ಧಾ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಭಾವದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸುವ 'ಶ್ರೀ ವರ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ವೃತ'ವು ಸಕಲ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವ ದೇವಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯ ವೃತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಯಾರು ಭಕ್ತಿಭಾವದಿಂದ ಈ ವೃತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುವರೋ ಅಂಥವರು ಅಖಂಡವಾದ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು, ಶ್ರೀ ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯ ಪರಮಾನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಆಗರ್ಭ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಿಕೆ ಭೋಗಭಾಗ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವರು.

_ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ_. _ಅಚಿಂತ್ಯಮಹಿಮನಾದ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ವಕ್ಷಸ್ಥಳವಾಸಿನಿ. ವೈಭವೆಯೂ, ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯಪ್ರದಳೂ, ಚಂಚಲೆ ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಟೆಯೂ ಸರ್ವದಾ ಸುಖ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ನಿರತಳು. ವೈಕುಂಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಛತ್ರ, ಚಾಮರ, ವ್ಯಜನ ಪರ್ಯಂಕ ಹೀಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ದೇವಿಯ ರೂಪಗಳೇ._

ಈ ಬಾರಿಯ ಪಂಚಾಂಗದನ್ವಯ 'ಸ್ವಸ್ತೀ ಶ್ರೀ ಪರಾಭವ ನಾಮ ಸಂವತ್ಸರದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಾಯನ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನವಾದ ನಾಳಿನ ತೃತೀಯ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರದಂದು ವರ್ಷಂಪ್ರತಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿರುವಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀ ವರ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ವೃತವು ಶ್ರೀ ಮಂಗಳಾದೇವಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಾತಿಶಯದಿಂದ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.

_ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಭಕ್ತ ಪರಾಧೀನಳೂ, ದಯಾಸಾಗರಿಯೂ,ಲೋಕಪರಿಪಾಲಕಳೂ ಆದ ನಮ್ಮ ಸರ್ವಮಂಗಳೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ನಾಳಿನ ಪುಣ್ಯದಿನದ ಅಲಂಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ *ಅಭಯ ವರದ- ಪದ್ಮಹಸ್ತಳಾಗಿ, ಕಮಲ ಪುಷ್ಪವನ್ನು ಪಿಡಿದು ಸ್ವರ್ಣ-ಧನ ಅಮೃತದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಬಿಂದಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿದ ರಾಜ್ಯಭೋಗ ಭಾಗ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯಶಾಲಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ದೇವಿಯ* ಸ್ವರೂಪಳಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು._ 😍

ಸಂಪತ್ಸ್ವರೂಪಿಣಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯು ಸಮುದ್ರಮಂಥನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆವಿರ್ಭವಿಸಿ, ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವರವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಮನ್ನಾರಾಯಣನ ವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪಾಣಿಗ್ರಹಣ ಮಾಡಿದಳು. ಆ ದಿನ ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
" *ಶುಕ್ಲೇ ಶ್ರಾವಣಿಕೇ ಮಾಸೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮೋವಾಂತ್ಯ ಭಾಗವೇ ವರ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಾವೃತಂ ಕಾರ್ಯಂ ಸರ್ವ ಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರದಾಯಕಮ್*" ಎಂಬ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯದಂತೆ ಪಾಲಾಬ್ಧಿ ಸಂಜಾತೆಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ವೃತದ ಮೂಲಕ ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದಲ್ಲಿ ದಟ್ಟ ದಾರಿದ್ರ್ಯಗಳು ದೂರವಾಗಿ ಸಂಪತ್ಪ್ರದವಾದ -ಪುತ್ರ ಪೌತ್ರದಾಯಕವಾದ ಸನ್ಮಂಗಳವು ಆಕೆಯ ಪೂರ್ಣಾನುಗ್ರಹದಿಂದ ಲಭಿಸುವುದು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಈ ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಯಾರು ನಿಷ್ಠೆಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅವರಿಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗುತ್ತದೆಂದೂ
ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ.

_ದೇವಳದ ಒಳ ಪ್ರಾಂಗಣದ ಎಡಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ವೃತವು ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು ಸುವಾಸಿನಿ(ಸುಮಂಗಲೆ)ಯರು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಮನಸ್ಕರಾಗಿ ವೃತವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ಆಚರಿಸಲಿರುವರು. ರಂಗವಲ್ಯಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕೃತವಾದ ದೇವಳದ ಎಡ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕದಲೀದಿಂಡು ತಳಿರುತೋರಣ ಪುಷ್ಪಾಲಂಕಾರದಿಂದ ಶೃಂಗರಿತ ಮನೋಹರವಾದ ಮಂಟಪದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯ ಚಿತ್ರಪಟವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು, ಅಷ್ಟದಳ ಪದ್ಮವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿ, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ರಜತ ಮುಖವಾಡವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ದೇವಿಯ ಸಾನಿಧ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ರೀತಿ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ ಕಲಶವು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಂಕೇತಿವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನಂತರ ಗೆಜ್ಜೆ ವಸ್ತ್ರ , ಗಂಧ, ಅಕ್ಷತೆ, ಅರಿಶಿನ ಕುಂಕುಮ, ಸಿಂಧೂರ, ಏರಿಸಿ ನಾನಾ ತರಹದ ಪತ್ರ ಪುಷ್ಪಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿ ನಂತರ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಅಷ್ಟೋತ್ತರ, ಮಂತ್ರಾದಿಯನ್ನು ಪಠಿಸುತ್ತಾ... ಹೀಗೆ ಹೂವು ಹರಿದ್ರಾ-ಕುಂಕುಮಾದಿ ಆಭರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕೃತಳಾದ ಹರಿವಲ್ಲಭೆಗೆ ವೇದೋಕ್ತ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಅರ್ಚಿಸಿ, ದಾಸ ಕೀರ್ತನೆ ಹಾಡು-ಹಸೆಗಳಿಂದ ಭಜಿಸಿ, ಭಕ್ತಿಭಾವದಿಂದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ದೇವಿಯ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಸುವಾಸಿನಿಯರಿಂದ ನಡೆಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ._

_ಶ್ರೀ ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ವ್ರತ ಕಥಾ ಶ್ರವಣ ಮಾಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ದಾರಿದ್ರ್ಯ ಕಳೆದು ಆರ್ಯುರಾರೋಗ್ಯ, ಪುತ್ರಪೌತ್ರ ಪರಿವೃತರಾಗಿ ಸಂಪತ್ತು, ಧನ, ಧಾನ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವುದೆಂಬ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ ದೇವಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯದಾತೆಯ ಆರಾಧನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ._

ಯಾರು ನಾಳಿನ ವರಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ವೃತದ ಕಥಾ ಶ್ರವಣವನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳುವರೋ, ಹೇಳುವರೋ ಅಂಥವರು ಸಕಲ ದಾರಿದ್ರ್ಯದಿಂದ ವಿಮುಕ್ತರಾಗಿ ಸಕಲೈಶ್ವರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾದೇವಿಯ ಸಾಯುಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವರು ಎಂದು ಭವಿಷ್ಯೋತ್ತರ ಪುರಾಣೋಕ್ತ
ದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ, ಅಂತೆಯೇ _"ಸರ್ವ ಪಾಪ ಹರೇ ದೇವಿ..ಮಹಾ ಪಾಪ ಹರೇ ದೇವಿ..ಸರ್ವ ದುಃಖ ಹರೇ ದೇವಿ"_ ಎಂದು ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಧನಕನಕಾದಿ ಅಮೃತದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಬಿಂದಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿರುವ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯಾಗಿ ಮೆರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಒಡತಿ ಮಂಗಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ😘 ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿ ದೋಷವರ್ಜಿಸಿ ಕಾಮಿತಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ.
