The Catholic Action League (CAL), St Sebastian Church, Bendur, organised “Master the Mic – MC Training & Stage Confidence Workshop” on Sunday, 30 August 2026, at the Parish Hall, Bendur. The programme was the second programme of IGNITE 2026 – Youth Empowerment & Skill Development Series, aimed at equipping youth with confidence, communication and stage-hosting skills.
The resource person for the session was Prof. Roshan Santhumayor, Principal of Padua Pre-University College. With his rich experience as an educator, MC, Quiz Master and Resource Person, he conducted the session in a lively and engaging manner.
The programme began with a hymn by the CAL members. Joshwin Pinto, former CAL President, compered the programme and welcomed the gathering. Joelle Saldanha introduced the resource person.
Prof. Roshan covered various aspects of Master of Ceremonies skills, public speaking, stage confidence, effective communication, audience engagement and handling different situations on stage. He used practical examples and involved the youth through an interactive session. The participants actively responded, shared their thoughts and asked questions, making the session informative as well as enjoyable.
As a token of appreciation, Prof. Roshan Santhumayor was felicitated with a memento for his valuable contribution to the programme.
Rev. Fr. Arun Lobo, Assistant Director of CAL, appreciated the efforts of the CAL members in organising the programme and encouraged the youth to actively participate in such skill-development initiatives.
Sherwin Dsouza, CAL Secretary, proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource person, the CAL leadership, organisers, volunteers and all the participants.
The programme concluded with refreshments. The session was a meaningful and inspiring experience for the youth, helping them overcome stage fear, improve their communication skills and develop greater confidence to take up responsibilities as MCs and leaders.
The programme truly reflected the spirit of IGNITE 2026: “Step Up. Speak Out. Own the Stage.”
