To improve
the social, economic and physical conditions of the poor rural, socially disadvantaged and primarily Dalit-scheduled and Tribal Caste communities in the tirupporuur and triukalukundra blocks of kanchepuram district, tamilnadu. After- school study centers(tuition schools) and for primary and secondary school children. Coaching for secondary students in the secondary school level certificate (SSLC) and higher secondary certificate (HSC) statewide exams. construction of free rural community cente, 500 to 1000 sq feet, which are donated to the community but maintained by TVO and which includes UPS Battery backup power system. Rural health clinic focusing on the care of women and children, nutrition, chronic disease management, first aid and disease prevention. Establisment and maintentance of both stationary and mobile village library programs with books focusing on the needs and interests of school children but also of the interest to adult in both tamil and english. Youth sports program, especially volleyball and badminton through the distribution of balls, nets, rackets and sponsorship of inter_village tournaments. Contruction of toilets in governments primary and middle schools that have no functioning toilets. Installation, repair and maintenance of community drinking watet systems including drilling borewells, installing manual and powered pumps, water purification and water storage systems. Clothing and school unifrom distribution to needy rural children and families.
9 women's vocational; training centers equipped with over 40 sewing machines using cotton, silk and leather materials to manufacture garments and accessories. currently operating program in 24 village forming a local network. monthly recurring budget of approximately 80,000 rupees.
30+ paid part-time teachers are working in 24 tuition school, serving 800+children monthly.
