🎍THE DELIGHT OF DESPAIR🎍

"When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. "
(📕 Revelation 1:17)

It may be that, like the apostle John, you know Jesus Christ intimately. Yet when He suddenly appears to you with totally unfamiliar characteristics, the only thing you can do is fall “at His feet as dead.” There are times when God cannot reveal Himself in any other way than in His majesty, and it is the awesomeness of the vision which brings you to the delight of despair. You experience this joy in hopelessness, realizing that if you are ever to be raised up it must be by the hand of God.

“He laid His right hand on me…” (Revelation 1:17). In the midst of the awesomeness, a touch comes, and you know it is the right hand of Jesus Christ. You know it is not the hand of restraint, correction, nor chastisement, but the right hand of the Everlasting Father. Whenever His hand is laid upon you, it gives inexpressible peace and comfort, and the sense that “underneath are the everlasting arms” (Deuteronomy 33:27), full of support, provision, comfort, and strength. And once His touch comes, nothing at all can throw you into fear again. In the midst of all His ascended glory, the Lord Jesus comes to speak to an insignificant disciple, saying, “Do not be afraid” (Revelation 1:17). His tenderness is inexpressibly sweet. Do I know Him like that?

Take a look at some of the things that cause despair. There is despair which has no delight, no limits whatsoever, and no hope of anything brighter. But the delight of despair comes when “I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells…” (Romans 7:18). I delight in knowing that there is something in me which must fall prostrate before God when He reveals Himself to me, and also in knowing that if I am ever to be raised up it must be by the hand of God. God can do nothing for me until I recognize the limits of what is humanly possible, allowing Him to do the impossible.

✞தேவதிட்டம்✞

"ஆதலால் நீங்கள் அல்ல, தேவனே என்னை இவ்விடத்திற்கு அனுப்பி… "
(📕 ஆதியாகமம் 45:8).

பலவித இக்கட்டுகளைச் சந்திக்க நேரிடும்போது, “ஏன் எதற்காக” என்று நாம் தடுமாறுவதுண்டு. அது இயல்பு. ஆனால், இதிலேயும் தேவதிட்டம் இருக்கலாமே என்று ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள சூழ்நிலைகள் நம்மை அனுமதிப்பதில்லை. என்றாலும், பிரச்சனைகளிலிருந்து வெளிவர வழி என்னவென்று தடுமாறுவதை விடுத்து, இந்த நிலையிலும் தேவதிட்டம் இருக்கும் என்று நம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடுக்க நம்மைப் பழக்குவிப்போமானால் அதுவே நமது வாழ்வின் வெற்றியாகும். தேவபெலன் நிச்சயம் நம்மை வழிநடத்தும். ஏனென்றால், நம்மால் சுமக்க முடியாத எந்தச் சுமையையும் தேவன் நம்மீது திணிக்கிறவரல்ல.

யோசேப்பைக் குறித்து நாமறிவோம். தான் கண்ட சொப்பனத்தைச் சொன்னதாலே சகோதரரின் வெறுப்புக்கு ஆளாகி, வாலிப வயதிலேயே குழியிலே போடப்பட்டு, மீதியானியருக்கு விற்கப்பட்டார். அவர்கள் எகிப்தில் போத்திபாரிடம் யோசேப்பை விற்றனர். போத்திபார், பார்வோனின் பிரதானியாய் இருந்தது கூட தேவதிட்டம்தான். அங்கே அநியாயமாய் குற்றம் சுமத்தப்பட்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டார். சிறையிலிருந்த பானபாத்திரன்கூட விடுதலையானதும் யோசேப்பை மறந்துவிட்டான். இப்படி பல இன்னல்களை அனுபவித்திருந்தாலும், “கர்த்தர் யோசேப்போடே இருந்தார்” என்ற வார்த்தை அடிக்கடி எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது. கர்த்தர் தன்னைக் கைவிட்டார் என்று ஒருபோதும் யோசேப்பு முறுமுறுத்ததில்லை. இறுதியில் நடந்தது என்ன? பார்வோன் கனவு ஒன்று காண, அதற்கு யோசேப்பு அர்த்தம் சொல்ல, எகிப்து தேசம் முழுமைக்கும் பார்வோனினாலேயே யோசேப்பு அதிகாரியாக உயர்த்தப்பட்டார். மாத்திரமல்ல, எந்த சகோதரராலே யோசேப்பு வெறுக்கப்பட்டாரோ, அதே சகோதரர்கள் முகங்குப்புற தரையிலே விழுந்து அவரை வணங்கினார்கள். பல சோதனைகளுக்குப் பின்னர் யோசேப்பு தன்னைத் தன் சகோதரருக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தியபோது, அவர்கள் கலங்கினார்கள். அப்போது யோசேப்பு சொன்ன வார்த்தையையே இன்று தியானிக்கிறோம்.

ஆம், இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சம் எகிப்துக்கு வருவதும், அங்கே காப்பாற்றப்பட்டு பலுகிப்பெருகுவதும், நானூறு வருடங்கள் உபத்திரவப்படுவதும், பின்னர் நாலாம் தலைமுறையில் திரும்ப கானானுக்கு மிகுந்த பொருட்களோடே புறப்பட்டு வருவதும் தேவதிட்டம் (ஆதி.15:13-16). அந்தத் திட்டத்தின் ஆரம்பமே யோசேப்புக்கு நேரிட்டவை. நாமும் எந்த இக்கட்டிலும் தேவதிட்டம் ஒன்று உண்டு என்பதை உணர்ந்தவராய் கர்த்தரைவிட்டு விலகாதிருப்போம். நமது வாழ்விலும் தேவ திட்டமின்றி எதுவும் நேரிடாது என்பதை விசுவாசிப்போம். கர்த்தரும் நம்மோடி ருந்து தமது திட்டம் நிறைவேற நம்மை நிச்சயம் உபயோகித்து, நமது வாழ்வில் தம்மை மகிமைப்படுத்துவார்.

அன்பின் தேவனே, என்னதான் நேரிட்டாலும் நீர் உமது ராஜ்யத்துக்கு அடுத்ததான திட்டத்தை என்னில் வைத்திருக்கிறபடியால் உம்மை துதிக்கிறேன். யோசேப்போடே இருந்த கர்த்தர் இன்று என்னையும் வழிநடத்தும். ஆமென்.

🖤LOVE YOUR ENEMIES🖤

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. . . .”
(📕 Matthew 5:43-44)

These words of Jesus can surprise and even shock us. And who, exactly, are our enemies?

In the book of Psalms, King David spoke often of his enemies. David’s enemies wanted him physically dead. They wanted to destroy his kingdom—which was intended to represent the kingdom of God. Those enemies were people who opposed the rule of God in the world.

If we follow Christ today, we might not encounter people who want us physically dead, but we certainly can come into contact with people who would celebrate the end of the church and the end of the Christian faith. We might also think of politicians as enemies if they are working to replace some of our nation’s laws with measures that are openly against God’s Word. While we know that our citizenship is in heaven, we still live as residents of an earthly nation. Further, people who want to destroy our country may also be considered our enemies.

The apostle Paul says, “Hate what is evil; cling to what is good” (Romans 12:9). He does not say, “Hate who is evil,” but what is evil. This means that while we may hate laws and policies and actions that are evil, we are still called to love people who promote and do such things. And we are not to slander or curse them but to pray for them.

PRAYER:
Lord, help us to love our enemies. As we work against sin in this world, help us to remember that you loved us even when we were your enemies, as sinners. Amen.

😇நோக்கத்துடனான வாழ்வு😇

"அவனவன் தனக்கானவைகளையல்ல, பிறருக்கானவைகளையும் நோக்குவானாக."
(📕 பிலிப்பியர் 2:4).

கிறிஸ்தவ வாழ்வு என்பது தனிப்பட்ட வாழ்வு அல்ல; அது ஒரு கூட்டு வாழ்வு. கிறிஸ்தவ ஐக்கியம் என்பது வேறுபாடுகள், பாரபட்சம், ஏற்றத்தாழ்வுகளுக்கு அப்பாற்பட்டது. ஜாதி வேறுபாடு, முதலாளி தொழிலாளி, எஜமான் அடிமை என்ற எதுவுமே இல்லாமல், கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் யாவரும் சமமாக வாழுகின்ற ஒருமைப்பாடுள்ள குடும்பம் அது.

பிலிப்பிய சபை பல்வேறுபட்ட சமூகங்களிலிருந்து வந்த விசுவாசிகளைக் கொண்டிருந்தது. யூத மதத்திலிருந்து கிறிஸ்துவை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு வந்த ஐசுவரியம் நிறைந்த பெண் லீதியாள் (அப்.16:14); ஒரு அடிமைப்பெண் (அப். 16:16,17); அநேகமாக கிரேக்க தேசத்தைச் சேர்ந்த சிறையதிகாரி (அப்.16:25-36); இவர்கள் சில உதாரணங்கள். இப்படிப் பலவித பின்னணியிலிருந்து வந்த விசுவாசிகள் நிறைந்த பிலிப்பி சபையிலே, அவர்களையும் அவர்களது ஒற்றுமையையும் பராமரிப்பதிலும் நிச்சயம் கஷ்டங்கள் நேரிடலாம். ஆனால் பிலிப்பிய சபையில் அப்படியாகப் பிரிவினைகள் இருந்ததாகத் தெரியவில்லை. என்றாலும், இந்த வேறுபாடுகளால் பிரிவினை ஏற்பட்டுவிடக் கூடாது என்பதில் பவுல் அதிக சிரத்தை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார். “பொல்லாத வேலையாட்களுக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்” (3:2) என்றும், “கர்த்தருக்குள் ஒரே சிந்தையாயிருக்க எயோதியாளுக்கும் சிந்திக்கேயாளுக்கும் புத்தி சொல்லுகிறோம்” (4:2) என்றும் எழுதியதிலிருந்து, சபைக்குள் பிரிவினைகள் வந்து விடக்கூடாது என்று பவுல் பாரப்பட்டது விளங்குகிறது. ஒன்றையும் வாதினாலாவது, வீண் பெருமையினாலாவது செய்யாமல், மனத்தாழ்மையினாலே ஒருவரையொருவர் தங்களிலும் மேன்மையானவர்களாக எண்ணக்கடவீர்கள்(2:3). ஆக, வாதங்களும் பெருமையுமே ஒருமைப்பாட்டைக் குலைக்கும்.

பவுல், இயேசுவையே சுட்டிக்காட்டுகிறார். “கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலிருந்த சிந்தையே” – இது என்ன சிந்தை? அவர் தேவனுடைய ரூபமாயிருந்தும், அதையேப் பற்றிக்கொண்டிராமல், பிதாவாகிய தேவனுடைய சித்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிய தம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார். மானிடரை மீட்கும்படிக்கு தம்மைத் தாமே வெறுமையாக்கினார், தாழ்த்தினார். அவருடைய தாழ்மை சாதாரணமானதல்ல, சிலுவை பரியந்தமும் மரணத்தை முழுமனதோடு ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, பிதாவுக்குப் பிரியமான குமாரனாக, மனுக்குலத்துக்காக தம்மைக் கீழ்ப்படுத்தினார். மொத்தத்தில் அவர் நம்மில் கொண்டிருந்த அன்பினிமித்தம் தம்மை ஒரு அடிமையாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார். இந்த சிந்தை நம்மிடம் உண்டா? நமது நலமா? பிறர் நலமா? நாம் பிறரில் கொண்ட அன்பின்நிமித்தம் அவர்களுக்கு சேவை செய்யப் போகிறோமா? அல்லது பிறரிடமிருந்து சேவையை எதிர்பார்க்கப் போகிறோமா? பிரியமானவர்களே, எது நமது தெரிந்தெடுப்பு? நமது தெரிந்தெடுப்பு கிறிஸ்துவின் சிந்தையை வெளிப்படுத்தட்டும்!

அன்பின் தேவனே, நானல்ல, கிறிஸ்துவே என் வாழ்வின் மையம். நான் அவரது சிந்தையைத் தரித்தவனாய், பிறருக்கானதைச் சிந்தித்து செயல்பட கிருபை தாரும். ஆமென்.
