రోమీయులకు వ్రాసిన లేఖ 5:8
కాని, మనము పాపాత్ములమై ఉన్నప్పుడే క్రీస్తు మనకొరకై మరణించుటనుబట్టి, దేవుడు మనపై తనకు ఉన్న ప్రేమను చూపుచున్నాడు.

Ash Wednesday prayer:

Lord God,
as we begin this holy season of Lent,
help me to turn away from sin and return to You with a sincere heart.

Create in me a clean heart, O Lord,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Teach me to pray with humility,
to fast with discipline,
and to give with love.

May these ashes remind me that my life is fragile
and that I depend completely on Your mercy.
Lead me on the path of repentance,
and prepare my soul to celebrate the joy of Easter.

Amen.

ప్రభువైన దేవా,
తపస్సు కాలము అనే ఈ పవిత్ర సమయాన్ని ప్రారంభిస్తున్నప్పుడు,
పాపం నుండి దూరమై, నిజమైన హృదయంతో నీ వైపు తిరిగి రావడానికి నాకు సహాయం చేయుము.

ప్రభువా, నాలో శుద్ధమైన హృదయాన్ని సృష్టించుము,
నా అంతరాత్మలో న్యాయమైన ఆత్మను నూతనంగా చేయుము.
వినయంతో ప్రార్థించడానికి,
క్రమశిక్షణతో ఉపవాసం ఉండడానికి,
ప్రేమతో ధ్యానం చేయడానికి నాకు బలం ఇవ్వుము.

ఈ సమయం
నీ కరుణపై నేను పూర్తిగా ఆధారపడుతున్నానని నాకు గుర్తు చేయుగాక.
పశ్చాత్తాప మార్గంలో నన్ను నడిపించి, అన్ని కష్టాలనుంచి కాపాడుము దేవా!
