🦅 SOME CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE
TEXT: Isaiah 40:28-31.

AN EAGLE KEEPS ON:
I. FELLOWSHIP.
Eagle flies with eagles. He flies alone and at high altitudes. They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds.
"Fellowship" means "two fellows in the same ship." (Amos 3:3).
We have to keep a good company.
A. BLISSFUL COMPANY (Psalms 122:1; 55:4).
B. BAD COMPANY (Proverbs 28:7; 13:20; 29:3; 28:24).
C. BENEVOLENT COMPANY (Psalms 68:11).

II. FOCUS.
Eagles have an accurate vision. They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.
Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed.
A. FIXED ON GOD'S WORK (Isaiah 40:28-31; Psalms 57:7; Acts 20:24; 2 Timothy 4:7,8).
B. FIXED ON GOD'S WORD (Psalms 11:7; Matthew 14:28-31).
C. FORSAKING THE WORLD.

III. FLAKING (Isaiah 40:28-31).
When the eagle grows old, his feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks, and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before.
We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of.
THE REASON BEHIND THAT THERE IS:
A. A WAR AGAINST SIN (Hebrews 12:1; John 10:8,10).
1. SIN DECIPHERS (Romans 3:23).
2. SIN DESPOILS (Galatians 5:21).
3. SIN DESTROYS (Revelation 21:8).
B. A WALKING IN THE SPIRIT (Galatians 5:16-26).
THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS YOU TO (THE):
1. CHRIST (1 Corinthians 12:3).
2. CHRISTENING (1 Corinthians 12:13).
3. CHURCH (1 Corinthians 12:1
God bless you.

Matthew 21:1-12 / Palm Sunday
FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS

Introduction: The disciples followed the Lord's directions for "Palm Sunday".
We should follow the Lord's directions because:

I. THE LORD'S DIRECTIONS ARE SPECIFIC - Vss. 1-3

A. Jesus told the disciples where to go, what to do, and what to say.

B. Through the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we too will receive specific instructions. Romans 12:2, John 16:12-14, Psalm 32:8

II. THE LORD'S DIRECTIONS ARE SCRIPTURAL - Vss. 4-5

A. Jesus was out to fulfill Scripture and to do God's will. John 4:34, 9:4, Matthew 5:18
We should do the same! Mark 13:31

III. THE LORD'S DIRECTIONS ARE SURE - Vss. 6-7

A. The disciples found things to be just as Jesus told them. We count on God's directions as accurate. Mark 11:1-6

IV. THE LORD'S DIRECTIONS ARE SPECIAL - Vss. 8-11

Conclusion: Because Jesus directions were followed the disciples were part of a great day and a day when God's word was fulfilled. Whenever we follow God's directions, the results will be special. Sinners will be challenged and saved. Saints will be edified.

John 21:15-17
THE TEST OF LOVE

INTRODUCTION:
Jesus led Peter through an experience that would remove the cloud of his denial.
Peter had denied Jesus three times. Three times Jesus asked Peter if he loved him.
When Peter answered yes, Jesus told him to feed His sheep

It is easy to say that we love Jesus but the real test is are we willing to serve him?
Do we Love God? then, It will be tested now.

THREE TEST OF LOVING GOD:

I. IN EXPERIENCE
By asking Peter three times, "do you love me?"

A. Jesus is subtly reminding Peter of his three denials.
• Peter thought so once:
Matthew 26:33
33 Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.” 34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” 35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.
• Peter answers only:
"Yes, Lord, You know that I love you."
He had now learned by sad Experience that Jesus knew His Heart

B. Jesus was stretching Peter to move him from phileo love to agape love.
• Jesus first question, "do you love me more than these?" is an "agape" love.
• The Second question focused on Peter alone, "do you love me?" still used the word "love" an "agape" love.
• The Third time Jesus used the word "love" into "phileo" love signifying affection, affinity or brotherly love. Just like Saying "Are you even my friend?"
But each time Peter responded his "love" means "phileo"

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
It seems that Jesus is trying to get Peter to understand that he must love Jesus unconditionally in order to be the leader God is calling him to be.

APPLICATION:
We should love Jesus sacrificially even we experience lots of persecution, trials and hardship and understand that it is all a test of loving him.

II. IN KNOWLEDGE:
All three times Jesus started with his name "Simon son of Jonas"
God called us personally to serve in the ministry

• Peter knows Jesus Personally
Matthew 16:16

• Our Knowledge of God will be tested like how peter denies knowing Jesus
Matthew 26:69-75

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
Believers who deny Jesus often begin doing so subtly by pretending not to know him. When opportunities to discuss religious issues come up, they walk away or pretend they don't know the answers.
APPLICATION:
We should love Jesus in both in words and in action not loving him in our knowledge alone but in our testimony to let people know that He is the Son of the living God.

III. IN APPLICATION
Each question was followed with a direct command. "Feed my sheep's and lamb."
When someone repeats instructions to us over and over, we quickly understand that it’s extremely important for us to heed them.
His meaning is that, if Peter truly loves his Master, he is to shepherd and care for those who belong to Christ.
• Jesus was emphasizing the importance of Peter’s love and unswerving obedience to Him as necessary for his future ministry.
• Jesus was impressing on Peter how important his new role of tending the flock of Christ’s followers would be.
• Jesus wanted to make sure Peter understood this vital charge He was tasking him with and the ultimate reason for it, to follow Him and glorify God
John 21:19.

TRUTHS TO PONDER:
Peter’s love for Jesus and his desire to obey and glorify Him were evident throughout the rest of his life and ministry.

APPLICATION:
If we want to follow Jesus we should be willing to surrender our lives in serving him even in the point of death.
If we trully love God we should take care His people no matter what

CONCLUSION:
Jesus is asking us everyday...
Do you Love me??
Do you really love me?

Yesterday's Sermon

TRUE AND PROPER WORSHIP

TEXT: Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

INTRODUCTION :
This passage contains all the elements of true worship.
There are many motivations to worship God because of what He did for us. He has given us what we don’t deserve:
Eternal love, eternal grace, the Holy Spirit, everlasting peace, eternal joy, saving faith, comfort, strength, wisdom, hope, patience, kindness, honor, glory, righteousness, security, eternal life, forgiveness, reconciliation, justification, sanctification, freedom, intercession and much more.
The knowledge and understanding of these incredible gifts motivate us to pour forth praise and thanksgiving—in other words, worship!

This is all God's Part because of His Mercy.
But in our part, How can we trully and properly worship God?

TWO PRACTICAL PRINCIPLES :

I. TO OFFER OUR BODY TO GOD (v.1)

HOW TO OFFER OUR BODY TO GOD?

THREE CONSIDERATIONS:

A. AS A LIVING SACRIFICE
13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. (Romans 6:13)

•Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness

•Offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life

•Offer every part of yourself as an instrument of righteousness

Are we willing to set aside our own desires for God?

Ephesians 2:10 says, “We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

TRUTHS TO PONDER:
Simply attending a service, singing songs, listening to sermons, and giving offerings is not what God desires. He deserves the best, and He wants us, not just our stuff.

B. AS HOLY

To be holy means to be set apart or separate from sin and evil.

1st Step to live a Holy life is to accept Jesus as Savior
1 Corinthians 1:2

2nd Step is to be filled with the Holy Spirit filling us His Holiness

•Offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. ( Romans 6:19)

•Flee from Immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

C. AS PLEASING

•IN FAITH
must seek God by faith, walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh
Romans 8:8
Hebrews 11:6

•IN OBEDIENCE
must walk worthy of our calling in obedience and submission to the will of God

•IN LOVE
must live with love to God and to other's
John 14:15

Truths to Ponder:
Pleasing God is a matter of living according to His precepts, commandments, and doing so in love.

APPLICATION:
We should stop continuing in sin but honor God with purity and holiness
Be a living sacrifice
Be Holy and Pleasing to God.

Ephesians 1:4
1 Peter 1:16

II. TO BE ABLE TO TEST AND APPROVE GOD'S WILL(v.2)

THREE NATURES OF GOD'S WILL:

1st. GOOD
2nd. PLEASING
3rd. PERFECT

HOW TO BE ABLE TO TEST AND APPRIVE GOD'S WILL ?

TWO CONSIDERATIONS:

A. NOT CONFORMING
To the pattern of this world

•Selfishness
1 John 2:15-16

•Corruption
Ephesians 2:1–3

TRUTHS TO PONDER:
1 John 2:17

B. BENG TRANSFORMED
By the renewing of mind

•Through the word of God
John 17:17

Hear
Read
Study
Memorize
Meditate

Truths to Ponder:
There is no other formula to renew our mind, it is only through the Word of God.

APPLICATION:
Ephesians 5: 15-17

CONCLUSION:
Do we have a True and Proper Worship To God?

TITLE: EVERYTHING IS OF GOD
TEXT: 1 Chronicles 29:14-15
V.14 - But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give only what you gave us!
V.15 - We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.
INTRODUCTION:
David praise the Lord for He know that everything in heavens and on earth is from the Lord
V.11b "Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom."

TWO TIMELESS PRINCIPLES:

I. EVERYTHING WE HAVE COMES FROM GOD.
V.14 - But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give only what you gave us!

TWO CONSIDERATIONS TO PONDER:

A. WHO WE ARE?
V.14a - But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you?

• We are nothing Apart from the Lord, we are all Unrighteous, Ungodly, Fall short of His Glory and Unfaithful. (ROM. 3:23)

• We are all condemned that Jesus need to die on the cross to save us.

• We are now acceptable to God because we have Christ Righteousness, Goodness, Holiness and Faithfulness imputed to us through His Death.

TRUTH TO PONDER:
- Who we are now is because of the priveledge that Jesus given us to become partakers of His unchanging character.

B. WHAT WE COULD GIVE?
V.14b - Everything we have has comes from you, and we give only what you gave us!

• We all know that apart from Him we have nothing to boast. (EPH. 2:8-9)

• Love? No, We love because He first loved us. (I JOHN 4:19)

• Service? No, We serve because He became a servant (JOHN 13)

• We do good works? No, We are sinners the reason He came, not that we are righteous. (MATT 9:13)

• We give nothing but He gaved us everything. He gives us Jesus (JOHN 3:16)

APPLICATION:
- What we could give is to Honor Him in all we do, in our commitment, in our whole being and in our stewardship.
- We should return to Him the honor, the praise and the Glory.

II. LIFE IS NOTHING WITHOUT GOD.
V.15 - We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.

THREE CONSIDERATIONS TO PONDER:

A. WE ARE LIVING THIS LIFE ONLY FOR A MOMENT.
V.15a - We are here for only a moment....

• We will all Leave the Earthly Life and Face the moment of death.

• We will all leave our Earthly Life, because our soul and spirit belongs to God and will go back to God.

• We will all experience the uncertainty of life.
(I TIM 6:17)

B. WE ARE LIVING THIS LIFE AS STRANGERS or VISITORS.
V. 15b - visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us.

• We are not belong in this world because Heaven is our Home. (JOHN 14:2)

• We should not place our treasures here on earth, because it has no eternal value. (MATT 6:19)

• We should live with godliness and contentment. (I TIM. 6:7)

C. WE ARE LIVING A TEMPORAL LIFE.
V. 15c - Our days on earth are like a passing shadow, gone so soon without a trace.

• We should spent our life to the Lord by giving ourself fully. (ROM 12:1)

• We should not be content in worldly pleasures it will all pass away. (I JOHN 2:17)

• We should place our confidence to God focusing on the eternal aspect. (HEB 11:1)

APPLICATION:
- We should acknowledge that Without God everything in life is nothing, our labor, our wealth, all our efforts has no value.
- We should acknowledge the nothingness of life by acknowledging God as the source of everything.
- We should be contented, satisfied giving everything we have to the Lord.

CONCLUSION:
David was a good man and a useful man, yet he acknowledged God is the owner of everything, and inspite of his position, he acknowledged the nothingness of life without God, as a shadow, dark and temporal, a life that has an end.

"All things are from God, through God and to God" (ROM 11:36)

JUDE 1:22-23
TITLE: LOVING SINNER, HATING SIN

INTRODUCTION:
In sharing Christ to the sinful world where we lived, It should be characterized by mercy for the sinner and a healthy hatred of sin and its effects.
James 1:15

4 CONSIDERATIONS TO UNDERSTAND:

I. WE ARE ALL SINNERS
ROMANS 3:23
who is separated from God through sin is a sinner.
we are all in need of spiritual rebirth, without which we will continue in our sinful state throughout eternity
Before we were saved, “we were by nature deserving of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3)

II. WE ARE LOVED BY GOD.
Romans 5:8
This man welcomes sinners and eats with them’” (Luke 15:1–2)
It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners”
Mark 2:17; 1 Tim. 1:15

III. WE ARE TO HATE SIN
A. By recognizing it for what it is
B. By refusing to take part in it
C. By condemning it as contrary to God’s nature.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
It is not loving to allow others to remain stuck in sin.
It is not hateful to tell a others that they are in sin.

IV. WE ARE TO LOVE SINNERS
A. BY SHOWING THEM RESPECT
1 Peter 2:17

B. BY PRAYING FOR THEM
1 TIMOTHY 2:1

C. BY WITNESSING TO THEM OF CHRIST

THOUGHTS TO PONDER:
It is not loving to allow others to remain stuck in sin.
It is not hateful to tell a others that they are in sin.

CONCLUSION:
Nothing brings more joy to the Lord’s heart or more rejoicing in heaven than when a sinner is restored to right relationship with God (Luke 15:7, 10)
