Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi is one of the most sacred and powerful Ekadashi of the year. It is also known as Bhimseni Ekadashi because Bhimsena, unable to observe all the Ekadashi fasts throughout the year, was instructed by Srila Vyasadeva to observe this one Ekadashi with great determination. By faithfully observing this vrata, one receives the spiritual benefit of observing all the 24 Ekadashis of the year.
🔹 When to follow Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi?
- *25th June* : Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu
- *26th June :* Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha
🔹 How to Observe Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi?
- Ideally, observe a complete fast from food and water (nirjala) from sunrise on Ekadashi until the prescribed time of Dwadashi Paran.

- Those who are elderly, ill, pregnant, nursing, or unable to observe a complete nirjala fast may follow according to their health and capacity, taking anukalpa (fruits, milk, or water) while maintaining the devotional spirit of Ekadashi.
- Strictly avoid grains, beans, tea, coffee and all prohibited Ekadashi foods.
- Increase your chanting of the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, read & hear Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, attend temple programs, engage in kirtan, and spend the day in devotional service.
🔹 How to keep Nirjala Fasting ?
- Take simple and easily digestible Prasadam on dasami, avoid oily heavy foods, take sufficient water throughout the day.
- Begin the Ekadashi vrata with prayers and sincere intention to please Lord Krishna. Avoid food water throughout the day. Engage yourself in spiritual practices, devotees association. Avoid unnecessary physical exertion, travel etc.
- Break the fast on Dwadashi Paran time with Charanamrita, Lemon Water or Panakkam. Afterward, honour simple and light Prasadam like khichdi or other easily digestible preparations. Avoid immed
