Introduction:
Holy Quran is a revolutionary book revealed by Allah (swt) to the mankind at large which encompasses a comprehensive system of thought and action leading to clean and dignified life in this world and be worthy of rewards in the life hereafter.There is hardly any aspect of individual and socio life for which Quran has not provided a clear cut guideline and
rule of action. Remaining oblivious of the teachings and guidance provided by the Quran would be deprivation of worst degree for any human being.The abject plight in which muslims currently find themselves is a direct outcome of ignorance and indifference to the teachings of Divine Revelation.It should be our paramount responsibility not only to acquaint ourselves and practice the teachings of the quran and also to convey to people the world over,Quranic message and its relevance,as a solution to modern day problems.Quran is in fact,a complete compendium for pious,healthy and noble way of life. With the above aim in view,a few enlightened persons,with well being of Islamic ummah at heart,put their heads together,formulated a cogent strategy and established Al Quran Institute which,as evident by its name,would have all its functions and programmes revolving around the Holy Quran. Aims and objectives :
• Convey to human being the text message and teachings of the divine book.
• To bring home to the emerging generation the fact that their conceptual,cultural and social existence depends entirely upon the Holy Quran.
• To furnish replies and elucidate upon the problems arising on various topics dealt with in the quran,besides dealing with contemporary issues in the light of quran and tradition(hadeeth) of the Prophet Muhhamad (pbuh)
• To teach the young pupils,male and female,in reading the text(Arabic Original) and translation of Quran and to motivate them for deriving enlightment therefrom.
• Utilization of electronic media,T.V.,Video,Audio,Internet for reaching out to those desirous of acquiring knowledge about Quran and Islam.
• To Provide booklets on Quran and allied subjects,in various languages.
• To introduce Quran among Non muslim brethren and try to remove any misgivings they may have about its teachings.
• To propagate Quranic philosophy and concepts among muslim women folk in general so that they may also be able to play active role in propagation of Islamic teachings. Facilities available at the institute:
• A library comprising of Quran,traditions(hadeeth) of the Prophet(pbuh),exegesis(tafseer) of the quran,religious jurisprudence and books on allied subjects.
• Arranging discourses and lectures by intellectuals and Islamic scholars on Islamic subjects in person and through tv,vcr,cd.
• Downloading of information on islam and current affairs from internet and passing on to desirous people.
• Arranging refresher courses,with lectures on tauheed(oneness of God),Prophethood(risalat) of the last messenger(pbuh) faith and modes of obeisance before Almighty,required character of a muslim and his dealings with fellow beings,Islamic history etc
• A weekly programme(dars) meant for men and women separately with the intention of imparting to them knowledge on Quranic teachings and tenets.
• Arranging quiz competition for imploring young people to improve their knowledge on islam and Islamic history(a sense of competition eventually leads to greater efforts by prospective participants.)
• A mobile van equipped with Islamic literature,tv,vcr,cd for extensive introduction and propagation of islam among masses.
• To associate ladies also in all programmes of the institute besides arrangement of monthly congregation of women for a discourse on quran. Appeal
Quran being a perennial radiant source of enlightenment and guidance for all humanity,it is our collective responsibility to spread its message to the not so enlightened.A helping hand from you,along with your friends and relatives,in this pursuit would be welcome.We solicit the attention of all to take maximum advantage from the facilities available at the institute,With a view to eradicate and obviate the suspicions and misgivings cropping up in the minds of our non muslim brethren ,various books on different subjects about Islam are available including the transalation of Holy Quran in hindi,English,Bengali,Marathi,nepali and Punjabi,and these may be obtained from the institute and made available to those interested and in need so that the teachings and message of islam in correct perspective is made known to them.
